SWR Review: Bass 750 Amplifier

SWR Bass Guitar Amplifiers

History:

Purchase: I bought this amp from Musiciansbuy.com fro $850, no tax, no shipping charge. I was playing in a punk band for a coupla’ months, and the Workingmans 15’ combo + extention cabinet(15“) just was not cuttin’ it! The drummer could not get himself to play softer, and the guitar players’ Peavey 5150 was cranked to an obnoxiously high level, so I got the SWr Bass 750, and the SWR Workingmans Tower(8x10)

What I Like About This SWR Bass 750 Amplifier: This amp kicks ass! plus, it has a fan, which the SWR 15” combo does not, so I could fry eggs on the heat sink after playing it at a lowd setting, that can’t be good. the limiter acts like a compressor, sounds really cool when cranked up. With this amp you get the warmth of a 12ax7 tube Pre-amp, which the SWR Power 750 does not have.

What I Do NOT Like About The SWR Bass 750 Amplifier: There isn’t one damn thing I don’t like about this amp, I love it!

SWR Bass 750 Amplifier Quality Rating: Rock solid, It’s like the Harley of bass amps, it might get you laid, awsome sound and lots of chrome!!!!

Review Summary: If you’ve got $850 to spend on an amp, this is the your best bet!

Rating of this SWR product: 5

SWR Bass 750 - I play for my church and with the organ I though that all of this new equipment would just be mushy with the organ bass. But I am totally impressed with the ability of the Bass 750 amp with the SWR speakers to produce a clean articulate sound....

SWR Working Man 2004 - I really like this amp, it sounds great and has a lot of great features. It is hard to find a good new amp head for under $600 and this one is well under that, and I would have paid double for it. A+...

SWR 4004 Workingmans Stack - The amp has an incredible sound but it cuts out at bad times. After the first time this happened I brought along my trusty old Peavey bass amp for a backup which never let me down! Hauling around two bass amps is a but much, though. ...

SWR LA 12 - if the larger swr amps are as good in sense of quality i wish i could afford one even though i like peavey nitro sytstem. i bhave bought a lot of amps over a twenty year career the la 12 is the best buy i ever made...

SWR Workingman's 15 Combo - Amazing amp, definitely buy if you're in a band and you're starting to get really serious and you want to get rid of the puny 30 watt amp. Worth every penny...
