Purchase: I got this Guitar as a Gift, it came in a stage pack with a rage 158 amp and it cost about $250 bucks.
Pros: this Guitar while not the best ive played, is quite versatile. it is a starter guitar yet it has good thick tone.
Cons: this guitar has 21 frets, even for a starter guitar that just doesn't do it. also there is no way that you can tap with the stock pickups, at least not very well. also it comes out of tune on the last 3 strings frequently.
Quality: my peavey raptor is well put together, it is pretty strong. it has survuved through falling from my stand many times as well as a couple of strap malfunctions, and still shows no sign of wear. good quality construction. however the pickup quality leaves somthing to be desired. i reccomend the single coil sized seymour duncan hotrails pickup as a bridge upgrade.

Summary: overall the peavey raptor is an ok guitar. its got very thick tone, its great for nu-metal, not so great for really fast soloing, but overall its pretty good.

Purchase: i bouth the peavy raptor at a local music store for about $250 canadian
Pros: personally i liked the price. i had been saving up and its the first immitation strat i could afford. it looked nice and it got me through a couple gigs
Cons: the guitar came out of tune a lot. you could barely get through a half hour of playing before having to tune it. so in the above paragraph where i mentioned it got me through a couple gigs....i meant barely. as well the qualitiy of the pickups wasnt that great
Quality: well as i mentinoned the pickups werent great, and it came out of tune a lot (which could be for a million reasons. my guess is the tuning bar in the neck.

Summary: the sound quality is good for a new comer into music. its easily good enough to get you through practice, but deffinately not a stage guitar

Purchase: this was the first guitar i ever bought, it was cheap, it came in a package (amp, strap lead etc), it cost roughly £120 from my local music shop.
Pros: at first i noticed it was one of the simplest guiars to learn on, it was easy to use, no frills all the essentials of a standard electric. It was also reliable becuase i owned it for roughly 5 years untill i eventually bought a vintage ibanez.
Cons: the strings seemed to snap to easily because of the bridge being worn away over the years, it also went out of tune a bit to often and couldnt be tuned down without the quality of sound being drasticly reduced.
Quality: it is a solid construction, it took a few hits around the body, neck and head, it was scarred, but the play was not affected. The sound quality is not good, but it is possible to change the pickups easily.

Summary: GREAT GUITAR FOR BEGGINERS !!!!!!! i played this guitar for years and practicly punished it, it stood the test of time and it gets my vote as being one of the best guitars in its price range. Pity about the state of it now, almost unrecognisable from years of adjustment, colouring, and experimenting.

Purchase: I BOUGHT AN ARCTIC WHITE ROGUE STRAT FOR LIKE 69.00 AND I REALLY LIKED THE WAY IT PLAYED AND SOUNDED. I PUT IT OUT FOR A YARD/SALE FOR 150.00. NOBODY BOUGHT IT BUT PEOPLE SEEMED TO THINK IT WAS A GREAT DEAL. SO I BOUGHT A RED ONE ( SAME PRICE ) AND TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL GIT SHOP WHERE I HAD MY EYE ON THIS CREAMY PEAVEY STRAT. THE NECK IS A LIGHTER COLOR, ALMOST A CARAMEL. I TRADED THE RED ROGUE (STILL IN THE BOX, FOR THE PEAVEY AND I'VE NEVER HEARD A SWEETER SOUNDING ELECTRIC, IT'S GOT BITE AND WARMTH AND JUST MELTS INTO THE LICKS.
Pros: I'VE GOT THE STRINGS,ALMOST TOO LOW, BUT IT HOLDS A PRETTY RING, AND THAT HENDRIX-EE, CREAM COLOR, MAKES YOU WANTA HIRE SOMEBODY TO HOLD IT RIGHT NEXT TO THE TV SO YOU CAN GLANCE OVER AT IT WHILE YOUR WATCHIN' THE SIMPSONS OR BACKIN'UP THAT OPENING TUNE TO ALLY MCBELL ABOUT 20 TIMES
Cons: WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE.
Quality: MY BROTHER JUST LOVES HIS MEXICAN STRAT, I NAVER DID LIKE THE FEEL OF A STRAT, MAYBE IT'S THE BALANCE OR SOMETHING, I ALWAYS FELT LIKE A STRAT WAS SLIPPIN' THIS PEAVEY RAPTOR (ONE I THINK) JUST HAS NO CONFLICT WHASOEVER.

Summary: I'M GONNA KEEP MY EYE OUT FOR A DEAL WHEREVER I FIND IT. AFTER ALL, CAN A PERSON REALLY HAVE TOO MANY "PEAVEY RAPTORS"
