Ibanez Review: BTB510

Ibanez Bass Guitars

History:

Purchase: I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and got this bass as my first for $540 at Guitar Center. I wanted to be a DJ, and still do, but since I"m only 15, I simply cannot save up that amount of money.

What I Like About This Ibanez BTB510: This bass plays just as well as any of the thousand dollar ones I also tried out while I was at Guitar Center. It provides a simply incredible value for the price, which may also be because I got it on clearance. It has fuller, clearer tone than any of the other guitars that I played around that price. One surefire test I discovered is that if the bass is 'slappable' (meaning that it makes a good tone when you slap instead of pluck it), then it is definitely high quality. The other basses would simply hit against the guitar and make that bad sounding 'click' noise when the string hits the guitar.

What I Do NOT Like About The Ibanez BTB510: There isn't much bad to say about this guitar. There are definitely better, but for the price, it is shockingly good. The only thing I would change is the style. I don't particularly like the wood, because it is easier to see scratches and marks of wear and tear on it.

Ibanez BTB510 Quality Rating: This guitar is of very high quality. It is hard to put into words, but we all know when something simply 'feels right.' I cannot say how durable it is for sure, because I just got it a few days ago and therefore can't tell how long it will last. I have heard good things, however.

Review Summary: If you're a serious beginner, but don't have thousands of dollars, this is THE bass to get. Period.
