Purchase: $1900, unbelievable tone. great balance and bass. put in a piazzo and just sounds great. tone just fills the room everytime.
Pros: plays very well, great action. very versatile as well
Cons: taylor has yet to come out with the 810 with factory electronics so if you buy it new you have to put in any pickups yourself
Quality: its a taylor, what else do you need to say Summary: great guitar, for any serious performer looking for a great onstage sound

Purchase: I bought this guitar used from a guitar shop 7 years ago, paid 1200. At the time I didn't know anything about Taylors, I just knew it had the best sound and feel of any guitar i'd ever played.
Pros: This guitar sounds phenomenal. It is so rich. You can really strum it or flatpick, either sounds great. The action is low, so bar cords come easy.
Cons: THere is nothing I don't like about this guitar. Like any other high end quality guitar, you have to be careful of the humidity.
Quality: Solid rosewood back and sides, solid spruce top. Summary: Absolutely fantastic guitar. Give it a try and you won't be able to put it down.

Purchase: My Taylor 810 with Rosewood back and sides and Engelman Spruce top was purchased for about $1,800 from Jim's Music in Irvine, CA.
Pros: This is the 5th of five guitars I have purchased and you might say I worked my way "up" to Taylor. I never thought of paying this much for a guitar. The action is low and smooth with no buzzing. The 810 holds medium stings that give it a very easy playing feel. The tone is marvelous anywhere behind the frets. It is much easier to play than the light string counterparts from others that are not built strongly enough to take the tension of medium strings
Cons: This guitar is heavy. When you hold it you will realize they use a lot more wood! This is only a negative if you play standing up for long periods. It is worth the weight, however.
Quality: I have never seen a better built guitar and I have examined all of the alternatives that cost up to 2-3 times as much. The computerized manufacturing process used by Taylor turns out consistently well built built guitars. Summary: I like it so well I have just ordered a 510 with mahogany back and sides and a cedar top for playing "blues". These two guitars will satisfy any type of music I want to paly.
