Purchase: I Currently have 2 other Taylors which I love. Recently I played a new 814 CE in a NYC music store.
I went home and dreamt about it that night(this should give you an idea of joust how active my social life is).
I LOVED it BUT COULDN'T AFFORD IT and so i BEGAN LOOKING AROUND MY GENERAL AREA FOR A USED ONE. 1 month later i LUCKED OUT AND PICKED UOP A MINT 814CE FOR a BIT UNDER $2000
I still play my other acoustics but this is the only one that makes me late for work and keeps me up 'till wee hours.
Just a great all around guitar with wonderful electronics

Quality: This guitar is in super-mint condition visually and construction wise. Summary: Happy is what I am when playing this gtr.

Purchase: Just purchased, from West Lebanon, NH Dealer, this past weekend (8-31-03), brand new, for 2549.00.
Pros: Three words... OH MY GOD. Phenomenal response, great neck, 'Spot-on' intonation, gorgeous inlays and finish. Electronics as good as you can buy. I've owned some sweet axes (Guilds, Martins, Gibsons), but this blows them all out of the water.
Cons: Not a single thing.
Quality: As good as you'll find by any luthier, including specialty builders such as Collings and Santa Cruz. Summary: If you have the cash, you're wasting your time playing/owning anything else. If you don't, well worth saving for...

Bought it cuz I love Taylors
Pros: The guitar is simply butter! Beautiful in every way. Tone is bright, full, and thick all at the same time. Well constructed and the Fishman pickup is booming!
Cons: The white plastic binding isn't exactly desireable, but that is the only complaint from me and it's not a perfect world
Quality: A+++ so far. Bought it in mid October 2002. I don't plan on abusing it, so it should be perfect till the day I'm 6 feet under! Summary: If you have the cash, go for it. You can't go wrong especially if you are a working musician.
