Purchase: I picked this up for a tidy £275 when looking for an amp that was loud enough to gig with and is valve driven. I got it second hand and it looked pretty old but that does not mean it was it bad condition - it felt very solid and durable. Its a all valve amp with reverb and a nice bluesy feel to it. Mine came with with two 10inch celestions that sound very nice.
Pros: The warm valve sound, ease and simplicity of controls. The reverb effect is very good (I have a POD2.0 and I reckon the reverb on the amp sounds much nicer than the POD reverb). It can go very loud for only 30 watts and sounds really nice when its's been driven for about 20 minutes. Clean sound is amazing and I cannot fault it. Overdrive is also really good but does not provide much distortion, this doesn't bother me but nu-metallers may want something with a bit more drive. It also offers many features like footswitch, extension cab socket, effects loop and an emulated output so you can plug it straight into a desk when recording instead of having to mike up the amp. Overall this is a brilliant amp - get it.
Cons: in short - nothing for the price.
Quality: Very solid feel, mines pretty old and I've knocked it about a bit and the amp is fine with not a resulting blemish anywhere. Valves are tucked nicely behind a grille where they burn away nicely. basket weave front makes it look great and overall - a very high quality unit.

Summary: A brilliant amp for the price from one of the finest brands. If you see it, get it.

Purchase: PART EXCHANGED MY JTM30 FOR A LANEY AOR50 & CAB(TOO HEAVY ROCK FOR BLUES!!) AT A GOOD SHOP IN FOLKESTONE, ENGLAND IN MARCH 2002. NOT A VERY HEAVY AMP, WEIGHT-WISE. SUPERB SOUND ON CLEAN CHANNEL. IT OVERDRIVES BEAUTIFULLY WHEN CRANKED UP. OVERDRIVE CHANNEL IS FABULOUS. NOT A BAD SOUND TO BE HAD!! IT IS VERY LOUD FOR A 30 WATTER. I ALSO HAVE A PEAVEY CLASSIC 30 - NO CONTEST!! THE MARSHALL SOUNDS LIKE A SMALL STACK WHEN PUSHED. HAVE USED IT FOR A FEW OUTDOOR GIGS AND IT COPES EASILY. MY BIG RIG IS A LANEY WORLD SERIES 100 WATT BEAST. 30 YEARS OLD AND STILL STEAMIN'!!
Pros: ANYWAY THE JTM SOUNDS GOOD AT ALL SETTINGS AND VOLUMES A BARGAIN AT £350(INC. P/EX ON LANEY). IF YOU SEE ONE....GRAB IT!!!!!
Cons: DISLIKES..MMMM..DIFFICULT..MAYBE THE SINGLE EQ FOR BOTH CHANNELS. BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL GET WITH MOST VALVE COMBOS UNDER £400
Quality: NOT TOO HEAVY BUT VERY SOLID. USUAL MARSHALL QUALITY. COVERED IN A BROWNISH/DARK GREY VINYL...VERY TASTY. CONTROLS EASY AND VERSATILE.

Summary: IF YOU BUY A SMALL VALVE COMBO, MAKE SURE IT'S THIS ONE!!
