Tama 5.5 x 14 Hammered Bronze Snare Drum Review

Tama Drums Percussion

History:

Purchase: I bought this unit at a local music store, and I was able to get it for $275. This model also has the Mighty Brass Hoops.

What I Like About This Unit: This is an amazing drum, it is loud, the rim shots are loud, and i was able to make it sound exactly like I wanted it. It is a very sensitive snare, and is slightly warmer than other bronze snares. The 10 lugs let u get very fine tuning, it is very easy to tune (meaning that the lugs are easy to screw and unscrew), and it has a pretty good tuning range.

What I Do NOT Like About The Tama 5.5 x 14 Hammered Bronze Snare Drum: the only thing i didn't like was that, depending on the pitch u tune it, it can have an annoying ring, but that is to be expected with almost any snare drum, and can be fixed with a couple of sticks of moon gel.

5.5 x 14 Hammered Bronze Snare Drum Quality: Excellent all around construction and excellent quality.

Summary: Amazing snare, could, depending on the heads and tuning, possibly be used in many different types of music, but fits any kind of rock, metal, or anything loud very well. I love this snare and would recomend trying it out to anyone.
