Peavey Reactor Reviews3 Found On 2006-12-09, jasonstone20 gave this Peavey Electric Guitar a 5...(12604) History: I've been playing guitar for 3 years. I play funk, rock, and blues. I like everything but country.
Purchase: I have two of them, both bought from a local used music shop, Trade Up Music. I paid $120 for the first one, and then put $185 dollars worth of work into it (a new nut, new locking tuners, new 3-way switch, leveling the frets). The second one was $179 because it had a Fender Lace Sensor (Red) pickup. Pros: Pretty much everything. I have a G&L 1986 ASAT by Leo Fender and although the G&L sounds amazing and has longer sustain, I choose the play the Peavey Reactors because the sound isn't that much of a difference, and I also don't want to beat up my G&L, which I leave in it's hard case. The guitars sound great, and there is a difference between the two because of the different pickups. The action is fast and I have small hands and the Reactor seams easier for me to play for long periods. They both have a black poly-coat which is extremely scratch resistant over a poplar body. They both have beautiful honey maple necks and fretboards. Cons: The two things I didn't like about the Reactor was it's low quality 3-way switch which was easily bendable and the tuners were not the best at staying in tune, which is why a had the work done on one of them, soon to be done on both. Quality: Rock solid construction and great quality execept for what I mentioned before about the tuners and the 3-way switch. Summary: Great guitars made in the USA for a rock bottom price you get a great playing guitar that can hang with the best guitars out there.

Purchase: Got it at Cheshire music in Keene, NH. It had been sitting there new for years! It was part of the year end markdowns, so I scored it for $100!! It has low, fast action, and sounds great, so it had to come home with me. Pros: I played all the Fender Telecasters, i ncluding the USA mades, and they don't play as well. This Peavey has a nice red finish w/white pickguard, and sounds as real as any Fender. The neck is slighty thinner, so it's what I consider a fast neck. The action is great, and the tone is sweet both plugged in or not. It even has a micro-tilt style neck! Cons: My only dislike is that the tuners could be a little better, but it does stay in tune. The volume knob goes down quick, so that's a matter of preference. Quality: It seems solid, and looks like a Tele, straight up(except the neck's thinner). No complaints with the finish. Summary: This is a beautiful axe that plays better than an American Tele. It sounds just as nice, too. For about a grand less! It's made in USA to boot. I'll definitely buy another if I see one.

Purchase: 2nd hand shop for A$250. Red paint job partially removed by previous owner so I refinished the body to natural color and replaced the pick guard. Tele lookalike.
Pros: Great action and tone. Front and middle positions best sounding. Blues, Jazz and rock tones.
Cons: Machine heads do not hold tuning sometimes.
Metal work of switches etc crude finish.
Quality: Solid construction. Made in USA. Maple neck with partly finished look
Summary: Great value. Best deal for an electric.
Tone, action and sounds very much like a standard Tele except for the price.
