Guild Review: Starfire IV

Guild Electric Guitars

History:

Purchase: I've had many guitars over the past 35 years and my latest is a Guild Starfire IV (2001) which I bought private for £1250. This is not a De Armond - but the real thing from the USA. It looks similar to a 335 but wow! Far more power in the pick ups and far more versatile. Rock! Beatles! Blues! You name it ! It does it!

What I Like About This Guild Starfire IV: The finish quality is everthing you'd expect from Guild. The action is easy and fast and it's so comfortable to play even on long shows.

What I Do NOT Like About The Guild Starfire IV: There's nothing I dislike about this guitar.

Guild Starfire IV Quality Rating: The wood and laquer finish is excellent.

Review Summary: To all guitar player who have played and loved the 335. You should try this model.

Rating of this Guild product: 5

Guild D-55 - It's an outstanding guitar. Every time I come across a vintage D-55 I get this nauseous feeling in my gut. My first D-55 was made from Brazilian rosewood, and I was forced to sell it because of money problems just a few years after I bought it. As...

Guild D50 - I got a great deal. I paid half of the "on sale" price, and expected worse condition due to being a demo. If I had to pay full MSRP, I would. It's that fine of an instrument. Find a store that has both Guild/Martin/Gibson/Taylor and some of the n...

Guild D-30 Black - I don't hear much about Guilds these days. Folks are always going on and on about their Gibsons and Martins. I feel like I've discovered a hidden, secret treasure in my Guild... so much so that I am looking for a Guild electric to round out my coll...

Guild D50CE - I bought this guitar sight unseen, and was relying on my previous experience with acoustic Guilds and the recommendation of the on-line store where I purchased it. The store also has a very excellent upgrade policy which was a backup insurance policy...

Guild B30I - If they were to make these basses still, I would buy one at the drop of a hat. I would never get rid of this classic. I love ot to much. I want a new bass, but I love the feel with this one and I love to play it. It just feels to damn right....
