Behringer Review: GX212

Behringer Guitar Amplifiers

History:

Purchase: I paid Australian $870 for this fantastic unit. That's way under $US500. The price is unbelieveable and I recomment you don't get turned off it just because it's inexpensive. These baby's cook.

What I Like About This Behringer GX212: The GX212 cranks it out against my mate's Stage 185 and holds its own without a problem. In fact I've added a little MX602 mixer to go into the AUX in so I can run a couple of vocal mics for rehearsals and jams. Vocals thru a guitar amp!!! Yes. The power stage is a very clean stereo 2x60WRMS and the aux in is amplified cleanly. The (very nice) guitar sounds are produced completely in the preamp stage which is just wild. The range of clean thru phat sounds it can produce is incredible. Just to top it off there's basically a VAMP effects unit at the end of the preamp to completely blow you away. Oh and if the 120W isn't enough grunt, you can slave off it or line out if you prefer, or just add a quad box under. Oh, and tape in/out and headphones. The options are almost endless.

What I Do NOT Like About The Behringer GX212: I'll keep searching for a criticism. There must be something. I guess it's a bit heavy to lug about. And it would be nice to have a little cheat sheet for the effects. Yeah, and it would be good to have separate inputs for the clean and overdrive channels and be able to separate them thru the two power amps - that would go well with the stereo Ric-o-sound output from my Rickenbacker 620.

Behringer GX212 Quality Rating: Construction is excellent, as I've come to expect from Behringer.

Review Summary: This has got to be one of the best value units of all time. (Sorry to rave, it's just true)

Rating of this Behringer product: 5

Behringer UB1202 12-Channel Mixer - I like the board very much. For my simple uses for it (live band use + personal recording studio), its more than I need at this point. If you have many instruments to run through a board, and you're looking to have EQ on every channel, this is not th...

Behringer B-Control BCA2000 - This is a really nice interface. If you put some effort into installing the driver, (look at my guide) things will be fine. Don't be discouraged by the other reviews. If this was stolen i'd have to get another one. ...
