History:
Purchase: I got this Guitar from EBAY, used for a total price of $187.00 (with shipping). This particular model goes for right at $400. at Guitar Center.. I think I got a great deal.
What I Like About This Squier StageMaster Deluxe HSH: At first glance, I wasn't very impressed with ANYTHING with the Squier name on it. Then I took a closer look at the features. This guitar is a Korean-made, neck-thru, with a Floyd Rose Licensed Double-Locking Tremolo. very fast neck with 24 frets, H-S-H configuration, reverse headstock, rosewood fretboard.. The list goes on.. Excellent guitar for shredders..
What I Do NOT Like About The Squier StageMaster Deluxe HSH: The ONLY thing that I don't like about this guitar is that the Floyd Rose bridge is sunk down into the body. (very similar to comparable Ibanez models). I was planning on putting an EVH "D-Tuna" Drop D Tuner, on the Low E. Too Bad, but I will have to buy a model with a "surface mount" Floyd Rose bridge for this.. Also don't plan on running an elaborate active electronics system on this one.. The Electronics cavity is rather small.
Squier StageMaster Deluxe HSH Quality Rating: Seems to be put together real well. Great features for the price. Don't expect too much, though. Plays real good for a $400 guitar. Play this one first, then pick up an Ibanez RG570..., You'll see what I mean.
Review Summary: I wouldn't pay $400 for it. Try to find it used.. If you have to buy new, buy an Ibanez RG570. I have both, and the 570 will play the pants off of the stagemaster, even though the squier seems to have better note sustain..
