Epiphone Review: Les Paul Standard

Epiphone Electric Guitars

History:

Purchase: Long and McQuade Toronto, Ontario price: $490.00 Canadian!

What I Like About This Epiphone Les Paul Standard: Great colour= transulcent amber, classic look and finish. Seems to have a qauilty construction. Easy playbility. A solid axe.

What I Do NOT Like About The Epiphone Les Paul Standard: The neck seems to made of plastic though it isnt. The top string tends to vibrate hard when plucked, bashing against the neck leaving unwanted noise.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Quality Rating: see above

Review Summary: Great looking axe with solid playability. Great for the price though gibson, is really lacking in the quality control department as late. I love the Les Paul sound and also have a Fender Standard strat which is about the same price range. Go for the strat just better made qaulity for this group of quitars, however i cannot speak for the big dogs of each company.

Rating of this Epiphone product: 4

Epiphone Les Paul Studio - I think this guitar is a guitar for both the beginner and the more advanced guitar players. Its a lot of guitar for a little price. Sure if you have lots of money there's better guitars out there, but im satisfied....

Epiphone AJ-15 E Acoustic/Electric - This is the ideal beginner/intermediate guitar. Perfect because of not just the sound and quality, but if it ends up sitting in the closet (sadly, as many do) it won't break the bank. I play my Epi live at coffee shops, parties, on the front porch,...

Epiphone '56 Goldtop Re-issue - The bottom line is, if you are an young aspiring guitar player, and you want some advice, buy a guitar that feels good to you, don't buy one that someone famous has. When you get down to it, Eddie Van Halen can walk into a guitar shop, and start jamm...

Epiphone Slash Les Paul - This is a great sounding guitar let down buy a few cheap components. If only they'd fitted quality knobs & switches, I'd have been happy to pay a little more for the guitar. Once you've replaced the pick-up switch, knobs, machine heads & fitted strap...

Epiphone Les Paul Studio Gothic - It's hard not to go straight into playing dark and heavy once you've got this guitar in your hands, but you don't have to be a Goth to enjoy this guitar. You don't have to be Azrael - the pale, clove-smoking wolfskin booted dude with the black nail p...

Epiphone Demon - I would highly recommend this guitar. It plays and sounds very much like my Gibson SG. The sustain is beautiful and the humbuckers rock and they rock hard. Buy it, you'll love it....
