Vintage Review: SG

Vintage Electric Guitars

History:

Purchase: Impact Music Brighton UK, £150

What I Like About This Vintage SG: It has got a great range of tone which are easily changed mid-set. the style is based on a quality model so this is superb too. For the price the playability is also pretty good.

What I Do NOT Like About The Vintage SG: The main problem is the way the strap fits, causing a "top heavy" effect which makes playing standing up quite stressful and can cause increased hand-ache. Also I find that when played acousticly there is a very tinny sound to the guitar, but i suppose it is an electric after all.

Vintage SG Quality Rating: It is very well constructed and there is no problem with the look. the switch feels a little sticky sometimes and i feel it should have more snap. The neck is not perfectly filed at the edges but this has no major effect on playing.

Review Summary: Quite a good guitar and well worth the money, however a squier strat might be better value for money, it dependson which kind of sound you want, SG is good for rocky-treble.

Vintage Metal AXXE Razer VR4000CT - WITH A RRP OF £229 THERE'S PLENTY BETTER FOR THE MONEY, I WOULD HAVE GONE FOR ITS BROTHER, VR4000BTB WITHOUT THE FLOYD ROSE, A CHEAPER OPTION AND IT MIGHT STAY IN KEY! PLAYING ABILITY IS IDEAL FOR A LEARNER BUT TOO COMPLICATED , BEST LEFT TO EXPERIE...

Vintage Metal Axxe Wraith - I wouldn't recomend this guitar, mainly because of the bridge and locks on the headstock. The playability and build quality are good for the price and the guitar would be great for a beginner/ intermediate guitarist if it was a fixed bridge guitar! ...

Vintage VRS100 - This is one decent first guitar with such versatility and playability. Those tone and volume controls will soon become dice :) Once i get some extra cash I will invest in grover tuners and EMG 81's and then you've got one complete guitar. ...

Vintage VRS100 - All I can say I have. 24 fret neck, P.R.S look's, 2 humbuckers, coil splitter, volume and tone pots make this 1 big axe for virtually nothing. It's an all around kick-ass guitar. Only 1 problem. Pickups are a little bit bad but does that mat...

Vintage V800 - It is an incredibly bass for beginning, the fact it is so basic makes it one hell of a guitar to use for practically anything, for metal and rock music, it is fantastic and I have done several gigs using it, it can also achieve a nice slap tone on it...

Vintage VRS100 - If you're on a budget or just feel your playing doesn't justify huge sums of money this is a fantastic guitar. I couldn't cope with the trem but I've got a Stratalike for big bends. I don't know if Vintage sell one without the trem but if they do buy...

Vintage 1959 Les Paul Goldtop - Very good if you are a begginer or if you are looking for a decent guitar for a cheap price....
