History: I'm in a band, r. guitar and singer. I've been playing guitar for several months, by I've had lessons, so I'm pretty good.

Purchase: I had gotten an Ibanez Gio (electric) a while back, and since I write my own music I needed an acoustic to get the sound I wanted. I couldn't find the right sound at Guitar Center, so I went to EZPawn. Yes, a pawn shop. There were two Fender DG 7's, one in good condition and one with some superficial scratches and a big dent in the body. I bought the injured one, because it felt right and it cost $64.00. The dent doesn't even hurt the sound.
Pros: The neck is sooo smooth... It plays like a dream, plus it builds callouses faster because the strings are a little further from the neck than usual. Chords sound great!
Cons: Not a single con.
Quality: It's actually really well built, but what else can you expect from Fender?

Review Summary: Being a beginner, it works great for me - and my uncle, who has played guitar for thirty years and still plays live, says it's just awesome.

History: I've been a professional bassist in my earlier career, and I currently write and record from my modest home studio. Mostly Country music and Praise music.

Purchase: I picked this up about 7 years ago. Paid about $125 if memmory serves. Got it at an acoustic music store.
Pros: I love this guitar. It has stood the test of time. After about 6 years, it was feeling and sounding a little neglected, so I took it to a reputable luthier. $100 later, I had a guitar that feels and sounds like a million bucks. With that little bit of setup it has a great action. The sound is amazing. Honestly. It feels light, so that gets associated with cheap, but it sure doesnt sound like it. A friend has a Takamine, and when they are both unplugged my DG7 actually has a better acoustic sound. Honestly. In a hardshell case this unit holds a tune like crazy, even after 7 yrs. I hate when people call something a "beginner model", or say "great for beginners". Hey...if you wanna spend as lot more for a guitar that feels heavier around your neck, go ahead. But this guitar has absolutely EVERYTHING you could realistically want in a basic acoustic 67 string, reagrdless of your skill level. Honestly. Purchase this guitar or $150,...then put $75-100 into getting it set up....and you will have an instrument that sounds and feels much better than an average $250 acoustic.
Cons: The only thing I dont like is the "beginner model" reputation.
Quality: Good quality machine heads. Hold a tune really well in a hardshell case. I lived in Colorado, and after 6 yrs in that bone-dry climate, I had to have a couple of the inner supports reattached, but that was no surprise. Keep it well humidified and it will treat you right.

Review Summary: Man, just get it. For the price you can afford to be wrong. And as long as you're willing to keep it humidified, and get it set up right, you will love it. I'm wanting to be able to plug in, and planning to pay to put electronics in this guitar rather than buying a "better" acoustic/electric. So take that for what its worth.

Purchase: Paid: $240 cnd Bought at local music shop, I boutht this guitar because i started a guitar class in school. This was the first guitar i picked up in the store, a played many others but this was the one for my alternative playing.
Pros: The sound would have to be the best part of it, it has more deep end than anything but that makes the highs flow with the rest of it. Its a strong durable guitar, it handles walkin with me to schoool everyday and it almost always keeps its tune the the gig bag.
Cons: Theres nothin i dont like yet exept that my truss rod is gettin loose so its getting little cracks between the body and the neck. Thats only because its pretty loose and its been hit pretty good a few times, but im surprized the crack is only a hair big.
Quality: The constuction of this guitar is awsome as far as i can say, the looks, the quality, the sound, and the feel is all perfect just like any other fender.

Review Summary: This guitar is great for anyone beginners to experts is guitar wont let you down. The price was amazing for the quality of it, if your lookin for an acoustic thats good for everything go try out a DG-7.

Purchase: My nephew suddenly became interested in learing how to play guitar. This was great news to me as I have always been a guitar fan even though not a very good player. Just love the sound and enjoy playing. Anyway, my nephew ( Amish) was exposed to the acoustic guitar sound and was smitten by the guitar bug. I thought what would be the best Christmas Gift to give him this year - guess what -an Acoustic Guitar and some lessons by you know who - the Old Uncle. Looked around at the music stores but didn't like the cost and some of the don't touch looks. I remembered a couple of purchases made from Musicians Friend several years ago and decided to look on the Net for a good deal. Man - I found a good one and purchased a Fender DG7 with a "Free Gig Bag" for $119.00 - Can't be that. The Guitar arrived safe and sound in time for Christmas. It is just the right kind of instrument for a starter and great day not so hard on the fingers or pocket book. I would recommend the instrument without hesitation and would give it a 4 out of 5 rating. Needless to say my nephew ( Josh) is enjoying and learning how to play the guitar.

Purchase: I purchased my dg-7 on ebay for $125.00. After reading other reviews, I thought it was well worth the "buy it now" price!!
Pros: Unlike most reviews on the dg-7, mine came with very workable action and a top strap button. The guy I bought it from said that he had it worked up at a Fender dealer. It has beautiful tone, nice working action and is very light, though durable. I encourage all to work with this guitar. It is easy enough for beginners but has the full sound required by real players.
Cons:
Quality: I work in the summer camp industry. I drag my guitars around all the time to campfires and the like. I need a strong durable guitar. The dg-7 is all that.

Review Summary: With easy playability and nice tone, the dg-7 was well worth my money. With medium strings, it booms.

Purchase: The Fender DG-7 is an ok guitar for those experts out there, but the beginner it will play like a dream. It's an excellent starter, with the Fender name thats not made in Mexico. For the beginners out there, impress your friends with the question Do you have a Fender? Well I do...At the price of 149.99, it's perfect to start jammin'.
Pros: The Construction of the unit is one of the best features, straight out of the box it played well, needed the truss rod adjusted a bit, but that's easily corrected by the allen wrench provided.
Cons: There are to things that are not good is 1) The plastic nut, it's glued down, but after about 3 string set changes it pops off, go to a local music store and buy a metal one it is sooooo much better. 2) It goes out of tune quite often, but hey it's only 150 bones.
Quality: Construction is good, and playability is awesome!

Review Summary: Excellent Beginning guitar, or for those experts an awesome backup.
