Purchase: I bought it off Music123.com as a closeout deal for around $400 American dollars including shipping to Australia.
I own a les paul and I just want a guitar with a locking trem and 24 frets for heavy rock stuff.
Pros: Very nice built-quality. Absolutely no flaws on finish or hardware. The whammy bar stays in tune very well and extremely easy high frets access. neck is thin and comfortable.
Cons: Pickups are a bit weak but alright
Quality: Better built quality than my made-in-American les paul gothic. There's no dead notes or slightly dead note on this guitar which is awesome. Review Summary: It worths me going through all this trouble to order it, get it shipped and pay the custom since i got it for half price (close out deal)

Purchase: I bought this off a website for 400 usd. I tried it at guitar center and this kicked butt. So I decided to buy it.
Pros: Metal, jazz or Blues, it can play it all. But HALT! I also use a Boss gt-6 processor, so that helps to kick the tone of the Guitar. The neck is very easy to play on, especially playing fast. Playing solo's is very enjoyable with the neck pickup. The bridge pickup is good for playing crunching riffs, for example some of those crappy new metal bands like Sparta, Linkin Park, Chevelle and a whole load of others (they dont play solos because they can't!). They suck but this guitar does not.
You must be thinking why I am writing a review if I said that I use a boss gt-6, because that makes the difference. But I used a fender "made in USA"
telecaster that cost a fortune, and that guitar plain sucked. It could not play Blues or Metal, just a really crappy guitar. Thus I would definitely recommend you to save your money and invest it
in an Ibanez RG570. The sound is warm, sharp and crystal clear. No fuzzing. The middle pickup sucks majorly though.
Cons: Oh Boy, I love this guitar to death but tuning is such a pain in the neck. After changing my guitar strings, I spent an hour and a half tuning it. But once it stays in tune it remains like that for a good period of time. Floyd rose tremolo's are in general a pain to tune your guitar. The tension of the whole guitar changes eveytime you make a minor change in tuning. One change makes all the strings out of tune. Next bad point is that the Floyd rose is not an "original floyd rose", but a licensed floyd rose tremolo. But not a problem at all. It does the job with perfection. And least of all, the fretboard has really simple inlays. I wish it had a prettier design. The guitar does not come in exotic designs either.
Quality: Well made, very solid and slick. I wish Ibanez could make 16th till 24th frets more acessible. Quality is very good, the output jack did go off once but I fixed it. Can be done very easily. Need not stress about it and happens rarely. Review Summary: I would choose this guitar if I did not more that 500 dollars to spend. If I had more that 500 dollars to spend, I would buy another Ibanez guitar say for example the Steve Vai guitar. That has some pretty designs and also a very good sound. I cannot compare how much better or how much worse. But THE IBANEZ RG570 IS AN AMAZING AND A VERY PROFESSIONAL GUITAR. TRY IT AND BUY IT.

Purchase: Ebay - $400 brand new with case.
Pros: The look and the feel of this guitar is amazing. Especially since i was used to the bulkiness of acoustic guitars. The neck couldn't be any better. The smooth thin neck allows for quick and effortless chord changes as well as shredding with no speed limits. The "Edge" tremelo is possibly the best Floyd Rose system you can get on any guitar and it stays in tune wonderfuly, even after many bends, dives, and pull ups. The pickups provides a wide array of tones. The V7 humbucker gives you bright, full bodied tone. S1 coil pickup is weak, but gives you decent uncolored sound. V8 humbucker is more twangy sounding, w/ extra midrange and is great for harmonics. Overall, these are very good for stock pickups.
Cons: Note sustain isnt as long as most hardtail units. Floyd Rose trem takes awhile to get used to. It makes it harder changing strings and properly tune things up. While i love the Edge trem, the back end of it sticks out a bit, so it can get in the way of playing, although it doesnt bother me the way i play. The center pickup is a bit noisy, but thats expected from single coil pickups.
Quality: Minor chrome pitting on the trem hardware, but no big deal. Everything else looked flawless and so far has held up very well. It still looks and plays as well as when I first got it 6 months ago. Edge tremelo is of very high quality and heavy duty, unlike the TRS trems seen on many lower model Ibanezes. Review Summary: Surprisingly versatile for a guitar that looks like its just made for heavy metal. Very feature rich guitar for the price and the quality to boot. Purchase: I bought it in a music shop in Glasgow, cant remember the name, i tried a few guitars (epiphone les paul, strat, fender 7-string and a bc rich ironbird) I t said £450 but i got it and a pedal for that price.
Pros: It is the sturdiest guitar ever, it comes with high gauge strings and double twin humbuckers and one single coil, when selected it is heavy as hell, in case your wondering KoRns signature guitars (the K7) are pure RG series and this is nearly as good. The neck and tremolo should be an industry standard, they are amazing, the output is huge and when i put it through my mesa boogie with a ibanez distortion pedal and delay it gives me koRn quality every time, the neck is so easy to use it improved my playing.
Cons: Not really a problem for me but for someone with small hands teh jumbo frets may be too much to handle, sometimes it is TOO heavy and the output blurs into one big mess but only occasionally, and if you have a second guitarist in your band this guitar completley wips out their sound.
Quality: Hard as nails, drop it and it just gets back up and bites your ass. Its very chunky and quite heavy but not un comfortable, overall its the sturdiest guitar i ahve played. Purchase: I bought this guitar from my local soundcontrol, and paid £479.
Pros: This first thing about this guitar is the neck! Its the thinnest neck that i've played and is a dream to play. The colour of this particular model is also great, its called Gray Nickel. Its a cross between silver and a gun metal black. The floyd rose tremlo is also very good.
Cons: At the moment nothing, but there is occasionally a slight rattle from the top string. Also the floyd rose takes awhile to get used to, as the slightest of touches on the bridge when palm muting can often cause some unwanted tremlo effects.
Quality: So far so good. The finish is excellent, It looks very nice and also seems very thick. It feels very strong and sturdy, The machine heads feel very smooth, the tremlo is very smooth and it is generally a very nice guitar. Review Summary: A great guitar, very easy to play!! Purchase: I got this from eBay for $265 after shipping. Pretty good for a $820 guitar.
Pros: It has excellent sound. I recieve endless compliments on it anytime i let anybody else play it. It has a seymour duncan pickup installed in the bridge which is truly awsome. But unlike most guitars out there, the stock pickups are excellent as well. The Edge (floyd rose liscensed) tremolo system is amazing - extremely high quality. Other than the sound, the best part of this guitar is the feel. Its wizard neck is paper thin (the thinnest i've ever played or seen) allowing you to fly up and down the neck with ease. It has 24 huge frets and the guitar is beautiful to look at.
Cons: Nothing except for a few minor annoyances. The locking tremolo system can be a pain to work with (install strings, maintainence), but it is worth it. The locking nuts at the top above the first string can be annoying because of their sharp edges that can hurt your fingers when playing near the nut on the first string.
Quality: This is the Japanese model, meaning it's quality of workmanship is second to none. Cheaper Ibanez models are made in Korea and they are cheaper for a reason. It is a well known fact that the best made guitars come out of Japan (while the worst come out of Mexico and Korea). The frets are very strong and do not wear quickly. The paint is solid and thick and doesn't fade or blotch. Review Summary: If you want to play heavy metal (especially lead guitar) - then, hands-down, this is the axe you should buy. The dual humbucking pickups give that heavy crunch, and the single-coil gives the more classic sound (so you aren't restricted to a certain sound). The tremolo system is a must have for lead guitarists allowing for those super-low dive-bombs and not causing the guitar to go out of tune. The thin neck allows for super fast movement and finger tapping (ala Eddie van Halen) is a breeze. And for the price these things can't be beat. Buy one - now. Purchase: Purchased this unit used at Midnight Music in Pittsburgh, PA for $300. Originally was $600 new and was only a year old.
Pros: It looks like a heavy metal guitar and the combination of dual-single-dual really makes for some interesting tonal combinations. The neck is one of the Wizard types and is fast as hell and flat - designed for fret burning.
Cons: I don't like the fact that it seems like with the slightest changes in humidity, the neck goes all out of whack. Maybe it's because it's so thin, but I've had to adjust the truss rod several times.
Quality: Well built, nice fit and finish. Even for a used guitar that was used to gig with it remained in great shape. Very solid and good quality hardware. Review Summary: I would recommend picking one of these up used to anyone. I don't know if I would have paid $600 new for it, but the poor soul who did sure helped me out! |
