History:
Purchase: I paid $200 australian dollers for it. I use it mainly as a compact headphone/practice amp when I can't carry my gt 6 with me. It's great for its the price and beats other multi effectors at this price range.
What I Like About This Unit: There's many different amps and effects you can choose from and there's a drum machine with a variety of patterns. That's everything I need to practise with. Acoustic guitar sound sounds amazingly good.most of the patches are actually useful in songs unlike some other uints where they just put in the patches to show you what it can do.
Compact size and batteries last a lot longer than a Zoom multi that I used to have.
What I Do NOT Like About The Digitech RP 50: Downside is the limit of changing parameters of each effect. What I mean is that you can hear a huge different between delay 1 and 2 (like how much delay you want) since there's no knobs but buttons.
Distortion sounds digital but good enough for practices and some rehearesals.
Changing patches isn't as smooth as i'd have wished. The most anoying thing about this unit is that drum pattern starts from the first beat again as soon as you change patch
RP 50 Quality: Quality is great. Tough for being plastic. The jacks are plastic but they are really good. I've been using it for 6 months or so and they are not loose yet, which is great.
Summary: Bottom line is that the unit us great for what you pay for. Excellent for beginners who want to check out about effects (you can definitely find usable ones with it.) Good as a copact practice pedal when you can't take your whole rig with you.
