Roland Review: Fantom

Roland Keyboard MIDI

History:

Purchase: Purchased from Musician's Friend for $1895 and some change. Was looking for an all in one type workstation with some cutting edge features for doing heavy MIDI work.

What I Like About This Roland Fantom: Everything about this unit is awesome. I had one of the earlier XP series workstations and that was a great unit, but the Fantom simply blows it away. Without going into too much detail, probably the single best feature is the fact that it's so damn easy to use! The layout of the menus and the function keys and the way you navigate around the system is so improved it's amazing. Also, the sound quality is simply incredible.

What I Do NOT Like About The Roland Fantom: There's not a thing I've found yet, but I'll let you know when I do!

Roland Fantom Quality Rating: Construction and quality are first rate. The unit is built very well and feels very solid, especially the keys and their response. I don't think I'd drop the unit to test it, but it seems like it could take a beating.

Review Summary: For $1895 you get everything thrown in but the kitchen sink. If you're looking for a powerful, great sounding workstation / synth that's also easy to use you can't go wrong.

Roland Cube 60 - I liked the amp when I bought it, and I like now. I would definately buy one again if this one fell off the plane. For a small amp it is acting like a big gun. I would recommend getting this 60 watts version over the 30 watts as this one has a bi...

Roland VS-1480EX - The VS-1840ex was great to bring to a basement jam practive and record like 4 microphones and get 3 songs on a CD. But Multi-Track storage always seemed to run out when I needed it the most. This is a great portable unit. But one day if I win t...

Roland Bass Cube 30 - I love it to death and if Roland ever reply to my enquiry about the line out problem with a favourable solution I would love it even more....
