Purchase: I came upon my SG at a store in london ontario. I paid 600 for the guitar. I bought the guitar because it greatly resembled Angus Youngs signiture SG.
Pros: I love how it gives a clear crunch noice, a sound like most of AC{}DC songs. And the smooth wide but not thick neck feels more comfortable than most.
Cons: I dont like how the SG makes a harder time to do power cords because of it necks shape , it feels nice but takes more work.
Quality: The gibson SG has a very strong and very ballanced body. The smooth curve for the devil like horns creates good impression when youre playing it.

Review Summary: The gibson SG has great abilitys much like the legendary les paul in my oppinion it is one of thew great guitars of our age!

Purchase: I bought this guitar on ebay for $400 in october 2003, it is a used 1996 SG Special. This is my first electric guitar and i choose it because of its looks and Gibsons great reputation.
Pros: There are many things that this guitar does well. It is very light and easy to play with no strain on the back while standing up. It has an amaizing sound provided by the two humbuckers. You can controll the exact sound by selecting either the bridge or neck pickup or both and each pick up has its own seperate volume and tone controlls. You could play probably any style of music you desired on this guitar. One of the nicest things about this guitar is the style. The double cut-away body that looks like devil horns certanly says rock.
Cons: The is not much to not like about this guitar, im going to have to think about this for a minute... The only thing i can think of is that it does not have a tremilo.
Quality: All I have to say about the construction and quality about this guitar is that its a Gibson. Your good to it itll be good to you untill the world ends.

Review Summary: The bottom line is its a Gibson: it sounds great, it has great featurs, it looks awsome and its quality.

Purchase: i bought this guiar on e-bay for $700. it was a great price because of some minor laquer cracking and a dig out of the horn. which doesn't particularly matter becauuse it is he feel an sound of the guitar that matters
Pros: as for sound this guitar sounds great. it works well with all sorts of effects. and i love how the neck feels and the double cutaway allows easy acce right up to the top fretts...this guitar is best with 10s strings
Cons: nothing!
Quality: i like the postioning of the pickup switch because unlike on my strat when you're stumming hard you dont accidentally knock it! as i sid i like the double cutaway givng easy access to the higher fretts

Review Summary: buy one!

Purchase: i acquired this unit to learn and it cost me nothing because i am borrowing from my wonderful boyfriend!
Pros: it is absolutely gorgeous in looks and the fret sizes are perect for me as i have small hands.
Cons: there is nothing at all wrong with it its perfect.
Quality: the fiery red paint really brings out the guitar. it is small with edges that are cut off( i dont konow what its called because i am a numb bum).

Review Summary: I could play this for hours on end

Purchase: I got this guitar from a guitar guru/technician I know, he makes his own guitars and sells them to people he knows from word of mouth. He's one of the coolest people I've got to know, he's really interesting. I paid 400 pounds for it...an absolute steal!
Pros: Gibson have hit the right spot with the S.G- by producing a great alternative to the common Les Paul and Stratocaster. The neck is smooth and the frets beefy and easy to slide on. It feels silky smooth and the guitar sounds fantastic, it's equipped with Super Humbucking Pickups which makes it very versatile in nearly all departments, I love it
Cons: There's nothing I don't like about it, apart from it's not a Les Paul, i still like them alot.
Quality: The quality will only improve as it gets older and mine has the single scratchplate which is more sought after. The construction is absolutely flawless, i really can't find anything wrong with this guitar.

Review Summary: Buy one! If for the looks only, the sound is a treat and the guitar just screams to be played. It's going to be a long term investment for me

Purchase: i did not pay anything for my Gibson as I swapped it for my Fender japanese strat with a man over the internet.
Pros: the sound of this SG is wonderful. it is better for the lead guitarist because of its deep toning sound like any other Gibson solid body. i also like the weight as it is easy to move about with very light. having played on les pauls and not being a great fan of them there is not a lot of difference in sound i feel.
Cons: the guitar is easy to dent and the pick up selector is down the bottom (not as easy to access to cut out sound)
Quality: the guitar is very wll made and has a brilliant finish to it.

Review Summary: this guitar is worth the buy. it will be in your price limit and has the same affect as a lp
