Purchase: I bought this guitar at sounds great second hand (ony by a week) for £429. I bought it because I need a guitar with a locking trem. I actually went into the shop to buy a jackson, but this was £300 cheaper and I just bought there and then.
Pros: This guitar is a one amazing piece of kit , If God owned a guitar it have to be one of these(Just had a mental image then, of some guy with a white beard rocking out on stage dressed like a member of judas priest). Anyway even though it's not the top of the range JS it still, out of ALLof them plays the best. The tonal range from the guitar is superb, I have changed the pickups to dimazzio rather than the ibanez standard ones, but thats only because I need branding on everything (It makes me feel big). The neck fits my hand perfectly but it may not suit everyone. The trem as most people know isn't a floyd rose, It's a edge pro 2. I works slightly differently and has more sleek design, and the sounds are great. It dive bombs like Tony Blaire's political career.
Cons: The only thing I can think thats wrong with it, is that it's got somone elses name on it at the 21st fret. Whos joe satriarni anyway?(joke).
Quality: The body is bass wood giving a mixture of mahogany and alder type tones. The wood is well cut and flawlessly finished. Mine is pure white and theres not a blemish. The electrics are all you would ever need.2 humbuckers with a 3 way selector 1 volume and 1 tone pot, which also is a coil tap for those sinlge coil moments. All the contols are solid and well made, pure quality. The neck joint is perfect as are the frets and inlays. The trem holds tune even after heavey abuse. the guitar was already set up when I got and there action is bang on. The very japanese headstock is again briilently finished with no l mistakes like paint run or anything like that.

Summary: You need to buy one of these NOW! put it though a mashall stack and it shakes the walls off. The qualiy and value of this guitar is second to none. GO AND GET ONE.

Purchase: I mannaged to take my freinds js100 by mistake, and left my s470 at his place for a week - same case! Nice and cheap then!
Pros: I looks pretty smart, tremalo is nicer than the one on the s470, thats about it! Sounds are comparable to my s470, ie. you can get most sounds - lacking the single coil pickup of the s470 though, so it loses some flexability.
Cons: The kneck wasn't nearly as nice as my s470. the frets were higher and less well finished, the pickup selector switch refused to stay put when playing hard, and the tone knob felt like it was about to come off. And this is a very new guitar - maybe 4 months old or so. I also didn't like the way the headstock is in line with the kneck. On the s470 it bends back to wards the player a bit, which looks really cool! It only had one inlay of joe satriani on the 15th fret or something too, nothing else. A fairly ordinary guitar - worht about 600 pounds here... You cuold get some quality gear for that. (guitar gear. obviously).
Quality: Tone knob crap. Selector switch knackered. Why go for the ever unreyable gibson-esque switch when the fender style one works time and time again? Tremalo seemed a more soli effort than the s470's.

Summary: Dissapointing. Good sound, poor kneck (probably fixable by sorting out the frets), so so construction. You can get some fine guitars for this price. I've read nothing but good things about the ibanez rg series, and the mostly undercut this guitar by a bit. They may not have such a nice shape, but the apparently sound the buisness. Buy one of them! If you have to play like Joe, do it one of ibanez's other guitars.

Purchase: I bought this guitar second-hand from a guy who bought it second hand from a guitar store, so i've got no idea how old she actually is, my guess is about 5 years or so. I paid $700 australian for it, and considering this thing retails at 1900, i couldn't go past it. It wasn't in the best of condition when i bought it, the body and neck were in top condition though, it was just a bit neglected.
Pros: It has great tone and it's real nice to play. This was not the case when i first purchased it, but that tone was still there. After making a couple of mods to it it's now a powerful and proffesional sounding axe, a really quality instrument. For a start, i blocked of the tremlo with a piece of rosewood, which has given it sooo much more tone, i also put new pickups in it, they're korean made, and everybit the dimarzio classic, at about a quarter of the price. After a fret dress, heavier gauge strings (11-52's) and set-up it is now sounding awesome, with wonderful clean and distorted tones, as well as playing beautifuly, it's one of the fastest necks i've played in a long time.
Cons: Dislikes... well, it's not a PRS, that's about the only thing it's got going against it!!! Without the bridge blocked off it sounded the guitar sounded as if it was holding back (too much metal, not enough timber), but that was an easy fix. It's fine to tune, especially now the bridge is locked, but even with the trem open it's still ok. The pickups sucked, but still were able to make the guitar sound good, just not great
Quality: Quality is good, especially for a Jap made guitar. The wiring was good, the finish is brilliant, very durable and most importantly attractive. Nice looking woodgrain too.

Summary: This is a great guitar. As long as you know what you are doing, you can really get this baby to play like a guitar worth twice what this one is. I'm putting it through a GT6 into a marshall solid state, and the tone and variety i get is astounding. It's my one and only electric guitar, it's just a good workhorse guitar

Purchase: I've always been a fan of Satch, and I outgrew my other guitars...so I wanted a guitar that played great, sounded great, and looked great. Plus, since my band occasionally uses alternate tunings, I needed a 3rd axe to switch to quickly live. This guitar became my main axe for standard tuning. I gladly paid $670 at a Guitar Center for this slick machine!
Pros: I really liked the size, weight, and overall playability. It was a first for me with a Floyd Rose...and I had to adjust a little in setup..but it's accurate and repeatable. It has a great overall universal tone but I absolutely love the 2 humbucker configuration with the split tone control! You can go from a straight forward bridge pickup grind to a rich, full neck pickup tone....all with good sustain. Great overall tone response....and it doesn't hurt that the transparent red paint is absolutely gorgeous!
Cons: There's not much not to like...but I couldn't quite adjust the action low enough for my liking. However, the neck is unique and it depends on what you do.
Quality: Accurate and clean. No worries or hastles.

Summary: I would recommend this guitar to those who want a comfortable, playable, good sounding guitar and want to spend under $700.

Purchase: I purchased the JS100 at Sam Ash for $629.00
Pros: Honestly, I don't have a single complaint about the guitar. I would pick this guitar over a les paul, or even a vintage tele. You can get monster tone out of the the satch models, kudos to the basswood body and pickup construction. The tremolo system is floyd rose licensed, and the quality shows through. Defenatley, a fast guitar, with the player in mind.
Cons: Not that I don't like it, but wouldn't it be awesome to see some Satch custom paintjobs?
Quality: Lightwieght...ingenious..perfect.

Summary: CERTAINLY WORTH THE MONEY! THANK GOD FOR CRAFTSMANSHIP!

Purchase: I got this guitar second-hand for £400 but i suspect it was from a women who bought guitars at trade price and sold them on for some profit as she seemed to have practically a shop in her house. Anyway im not complaining as the standard price is £600.
Pros: Its a real nice guitar to play, thin neck making movement pretty damn easy and the guitar is real light and comfortable. The sound is great, with these pick-ups i can play blues to some metal.
Cons: I havn't found anything wrong or anything that ive disliked as the build quality is pretty damn good. The only thing i dom't like really is the locking system for the strings. It doesn't really bother me a great deal and its pretty necersary if you want to use the tremolo and stay in tune so you can abuse it as much as you like. This is definitely not a guitar for de-tuning.
Quality: Build quality is great havn't found anything bad about it yet. Everything is pretty tight and sturdy, for £600 odd thats what you would expect.

Summary: This is a great guitar plays really nicely. Make sure you ask questions before you buy it about the locking systems and how to re-string or else you'll probably end up ruining the tremolo system or other damage. If you wanna get a different gauge of strings i was told to ask professional advice. Great guitar and i advise you to get it, unless you can afford something better like a JS100+ or a ..............PRS Singlecut...........
