Boss Review: ODB-3 Bass Overdrive

Boss Bass Guitar Effects

History:

Purchase: I paid $70 for this box at my local mars music superstore...

What I Like About This Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive: It is all metal and has a really durable look, feel and reputation. The knobs are sorta small, but they work great. The sound from this stompbox is more of a fuzz than a gain-boosted overdrive, but this thing can reach all levels. From a light growl on the low end or a shade of distort to screaming thrash metal, this thing can do them all.

What I Do NOT Like About The Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive: The color. yellow is not my type! And one more thing - this baby is noisy! You can always turn it off after you play, of course....

Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive Quality Rating: Superb. Roland does a very good job.

Review Summary: If you need a bass effect, and you like adding a fine touch to your tone, get it. If you're a bass purist (4 strings, a clean sound) don't.

Rating of this Boss product: 5

Boss MT-2 Metal Zone - Although the price is a bit high, you cant go wrong with this pedal. In my opinion, you cant go wrong with BOSS period! The only thing i can see wrong with this pedal is the price. Other than that, it's a perfect pedal. ...

Boss GE7 - The pedal is useful for extreme sounds, as well as more subtle tone shifting. This way you can use it for accents in songs but also it can be a new basic for the whole of your sound....

Boss GT-5 - If you don't use lots of wah, and you already have a nice sounding amp this should give all the effects and flexibility you will need. But if you're like me (playing through small practice amps and PA systems), this will not give nice organic tube-i...
