Purchase: I travel and spent nearly a year looking at, mostly, Taylor guitars at over 20 guitar stores across the US. Finally found my dream guitar at Tobias Music in Downers Grove, IL (Chicago area). I paid $2,150 for my Taylor 714 CE.
Pros: The tone and playability of this instrument are incredible. The indian rosewood back/sides give nice bass response while cedar top adds warmth.
Cons: As part of the setup, the guitar shop shortened the height of bridge too low which improved action but increased fret buzz. This was corrected with a new bridge.
Quality: Construction, fit and finish of guitar is flawless. Try running your hand down the side of the neck/fretboard and notice how nicely finished the fret ends are. The inlays are well detailed, too.
Summary: Very happy with my investment. This guitar is well worth the money.
