Purchase: I purchased my GT6 from Sounds & Systems in Kenora, ON. They had to order it in which took 2 and a half months! Haha...but it was well worth the wait. I did a lot of research before i made the decision of purchasing the unit. I ended up paying CAD$625.00 + tax. Pros: I love everything about this unit. The amp models are incredible! They change the sound so much and are very detailed. I like the fact that you can tweak almost every setting on the unit. There are a lot of very useful effects..but on the other hand A LOT of useless effects. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life! Cons: The only thing i don't like about this unit is with the harmonizer effects (octave, harmony, etc) you can't play more than one note at a time...doing so will result in the unit making some wierd tones. One other thing i didn't like is how long it took to learn how to use it..i STILL don't know everything about it..and i'm sure i never really will. Quality: As MANY other people have said...the GT-6 is built like a tank! I'd say this thing is virtually indestructable. That doesn't mean you go and run it over with your car or anything...but its built amazingly strong. Summary: Overall...this unit is amazing! The great effects it does have add so much depth and creativity to your guitar playing. I love this unit and if i lost it or if it got destroyed...i would DEFINATELY purchase a new one ASAP. This deserves more than 5/5!

Purchase: I bought this multieffect-pedal one year ago in an Guitar store in Hamburg-Germany. Ipaid at least 455€ for it. I bought it because I didn`t want to have thousends of single pedals. Pros: It is an digital unit, but the handling is as easy as if it was an analog one. You have got milions of possibilities when you want to create a new sound by yourself. And there are also about 100 presets! Cons: The only negative thing about it is that you sometimes get lost in all those effects you can use together. But if you understand that less is more you`ll have your fun with this pedal. Quality: The Boss GT-6 has got the best quality you can imagine. You can probably jump on it and it wont get destroyed. One time a bottle beer fell on it and all the beer ran out on it, but no problem it is as useable as before!
Summary: The Boss GT-6 is the best multieffect-pedal you can imagine in all categories!!!!!

Purchase: I was looking for a quality floor based multi-effects unit that would allow me to simplify my setup. Until now I have been using a rack mounted preamp with a MIDI control panel and few effect pedals tacked on to it. Having to set up and tear down was major pain in the @$$. I tried out a few others from other manufactures, but this one had the best sound and versatility than the others. The GT-6 allows me to do everything I did before and more in one floor pedal. I Paid $395 at Make'N'Music for it in Frederick,Md. Pros: I love the sound and quality of the effects. I have used it through a couple different amps and straight into my mixing board and I continue to be impressed. The presets are pretty good also. It definatly has everything I wanted in it and allows me to do everything I want to do. Cons: The manual lacks some detail and is hard to follow at first. I had to read the thing several times and fiddle with the unit before getting it. Once you understand the unit though the manual becomes a better tool. The foot switches are also a bit close, so I found myself bumping more than one at a time occasionally. Quality: I have not had it long and have not travelled with it, but it seems pretty rugged to me. I dont feel like I need to baby it, but I probably will anyway. Summary: I have bought several toys for myself through the years but this is the first one I find myself anxious to go home and play with some more. This unit is packed with a great array effects and sounds. It suits my style of playing so well I almost think it was designed for me. I am completly satisfied with this purchase. Between this and the Taylor I dont think I could have a better Christmas.....Happy Holidays.

Purchase: I purchased this at a midwest store for $495. Pros: The unit adds a richness to my sound that the individual stomp boxes by Boss didn't. I was thinking about buying new amps until I got the GT-6. No need now. My Peaveys sound great! You can store more sounds than you will ever need and if that happens buy another one! Cons: The manual sucks, it sucks, it sucks, it sucks. Did I mention the manual sucks? More important is that I have had some difficulty duplicating sounds achieved on Boss' individual stomp boxes so I have kept them and still use them sparingly. The next model needs to be able to accept a signal from a stomp box and automatically duplicate the settings and store them for you. I would also like to see a unit that can be attached to a mic stand to manupulate the midi info for ex. I want to go straight to a patch program rather than sit with my foot on the peddle waiting for the number to climb from 1 to 40. Too time consuming. I also would like to see a hard case for the unit. $150 quoted for a custom job, too much! Quality: No problems there, looks good on stage too. Summary: Well worth the money. Makes an average guitar and amp sound great.

Purchase: PAID $395, SAM ASH, NO PAYMENTS FOR 12 MONTHS. That helped. I bought this unit for the amp and speaker simulations. Pros: This unit is sturdy. I was used to a ZOOM 505II but no complaints about that unit. I like the ease of use. I am easily frustrated with units requiring several minutes of wrestling. This unit has knobs!
If u like your setting... hit the "write" key twice and it's saved. Has wide range of effects that I would normally not use, but now I will! I do alot of recording and this has made it easier without alerting the neighbors. Cons: I like everything. A case provided would be nice, but, I guess you can pick one up for under $25. Quality: Beautiful color and construction. Great display. User friendly. Summary: This unit gives you a wide variety of pre-amp and cabinet simulations. Would suggest everyone get one. Makes you wonder what is the next level of digital is going to be.
Though it's not the actual thing, why not try it like this:
Power amplifier and two 3-way speakers. This is my new gear. My ultimate stack.
You will set a new sound standard.
Now buy this unit. Hang out at the GT-6 yahoo users group.

Purchase: Bought the GT-6 for use on stage.
Paid $300.00 in the Netherlands Pros: What I like is:
it's robust and has good sound quality on stage.
Use of quit a few pre amps is really cool and you can dump additional midi information into it. Cons: Nothing yet Quality: Really good.
I't heavy, the pedles are robust. Summary: Buy one now and throw your old stuff away! you'll become a better guitar player overnight

Purchase: Bought it in Romania for around 950 DM (Deutsche Mark) in November 2001. Pros: 24 bit converters and digital out (coaxial), the amp modelling is impressive and so is the wah. You have all the classics and you can make your own on top of that. A generous display allows you to name your patches.
There's a guitar synth that sounds quite like plugging your axe into that old Korg MS-20 (what a piece!), only this time it's digital, and you can choose the wave type, attack, decay, etc. And you don't need a GK2A divided pick-up. Cons: I am not very happy with the manual but it is OK.
Also an "undo" button in the near future? Quality: The moment you take it out of its box you know you can step on it. Very robust.
It would be nice to be able to buy a gig bag or even a case from Roland made especially for the GT-6. Summary: My music is oriented towards jazz-house/ trip hop/ downtempo/ ambient and there is no effects processor that can give me more possibilities than the GT-6. I just love it. From classic sounds to "what-was-that?" type of thing, everything is inside. I am really surprised to get so much from it.

Purchase: I bought it in a shop for $995. Mark price was $1295. Pros: Very good sound. I play it through a Marshall prastice amp and a cheap strat copy guitar. The amp models are really nice. i have never used the original so I can't tell if they sound close, but they sound good and that's all I care about. Distortions/overdrives are really nice. It gives you an idea of what model certain effects are based on in the manual. I own 3 stomp boxes -ds 2, tubescreamer ts7 and use Big Muff, and so far the tubescreamer and big muff sound close enough on gt6.
Presets are pretty good, gives you an idea of what sound you can get. Some really cool flanger/phaser/synth sound on the presets. These are not really useful in songs but really cool. (good for intro and outro of songs.)
Pitch shifting is pretty good, not as bad as some poepl suggested.
Auto riff is a cool effect.
Analog interface is really easy for editing. Cons: Nothing...wish it comes with a soft case though. Quality: Sturdy metal chasis, boss quality. Summary: Very nice unit. It seems expensive since you pay almost $1000au at once but then it will end up be cheaper than stompx boxes plus power supply and patch cables.
Convient without all those patch cables.
People who looking for multu-effector should really look seriously at this product. It's awesome!!!

Purchase: Bought it on E-bay, believe it or not. Paid $350 for it new in the box. Couldn't wait to find it anywhere else possibly cheaper but I think I got a great price. Pros: The sound quality is amazing and the unit reaks of quality. Built like a tank like everything else Boss makes. I especially liked the wah modeling. Quite impressive to actually be able to hear the difference between a Vox wah and a Crybaby from a modeling unit. Cons: Nothing I've found yet! Quality: As I mentioned above, it's built very solid. This unit will take years of road abuse and keep coming back for more. Obviously, it's of a very high quality. Summary: Get one. Throw away your old modelers and multi-effects processors - sell em on ebay or something. You can get everything you need in this one box.
