Ibanez Review: SR300DX

Ibanez Bass Guitars

History:

Purchase: This is my frist bass,Ive been playing for just over a year now...i spent a lot of time chosing a bass to start with, i did want to set off on the Squire...Fender Fakes..road..so i chose an Ibanez and paid just over £220 for it...witha case, strap and strings..from Academy Of sound..

What I Like About This Ibanez SR300DX: Its built as solid as a rock and altho ive become a very competent player i always find that when i pick up my ibanez that I'm goin to find something new..Slapping can be a bit tricky because of the Ol-Pencil neck on the bass..tho with a bit of movemnt and a bit of practice..u can get quite a bassy thump when u slapping...Slides are a brezze..the Active electronics give this bass a powerful punch and its great when playing live...tho ewith 24frets...there's far too much choice..when impro-ing..The whole bass with it's bolt-on neck is sturdy and very well made...better then the cheap and nasty squire basses that u can get.

What I Do NOT Like About The Ibanez SR300DX: Recent ive been looking a for a new bass...my parents said they'd get me one because i got 145/150 for my Grade 8 Rock School. Ive noticed that the ibanez is good but again..the neck.,.because i tend to do alot of Stu Zender-esc licks..its far too narrow..and im quicker falling for wide neck..s the fretboard isnt flat its slightly round which means when slapping the string tend to slide down the neck...the electronic have failed twice on me..and ive re-wired it twice..its now working fine...i have found it very hard to remove fret buzz...but after a year of tweaking it's sounding sweet...but the worst thing is that's it's bass wood.it doesnt move and contract due to room conditions as they change.i notice that sometime...the bass sound really sweet and heavy and the slapping tone is perfect and im like..wow i sound good...then other times...it sound well kind weak and feable..and your like oh im really not that good....but i still like it...

Ibanez SR300DX Quality Rating: Top Notch..apart from electronic's failing and the damn knobs that wont stay on

Review Summary: Good bass.great for starts......and experience players who want something a little different...not the best....but good...basswood body lets the side down when climatic change take place..but EQ is great for playing around with...tho u do get lots of Reverb....Become Stu...And by one...

Ibanez S470 - Buy this guitar, and to get the most potential out of it, upgrade the pickups. If you are debating on a guitar, and have about 300 bux to spend, look for an Ibanez S470. ...

Ibanez AX 120 - I was thrilled to see the identical guitar on the guitar stand of Breaking Benjamin's guitar player when we opened for them. Good enough for a national touring act, I guess! (although I'm positive it's just a backup for his PRS's)...

Ibanez BTB400QM - if i had to choose again, i would still pick this bass. although not as good as some basses like the musicman stingray, it is perfect for its reasonable price. i think it is the bes bass you can get for the price range. ...

Ibanez EDC700 Ergodyne - Overall this is more of a live bass than anything b/c of the lack of sustain and mid-tone, so nobody will really notice what it's lacking. But I wouldn't go anywhere near a recorder with it. ...

Ibanez TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer - For playing the blues I would highly recomend this pedal. I played the tube screamer through a friends Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and it rocked. Of course he went out and bought one. Hey Ibanez, where's my commision. I play a fender fat strat through ...

Ibanez RG470 - I had a second-hand Magnum Les Paul clone that I bought for $50 in high school (they were about $150 new) that could run circles around this thing. The second worst musical investment I've probably ever made. (the first being a $40 keyboard)...

Ibanez RT 450 - It's hard to get ahold of these guitars because Ibanez no longer makes them, but they rule! Buy Ibanez!!!!!!...
