Paiste Review: 302 Crash, Ride & Hats

Paiste Drums Percussion

History:

Purchase: I bought these cymbals as a starter set when i didn't know much about drumming. I bought them from a shop called Footes in London for about £150 approximatly 4 years ago.

What I Like About This Paiste 302 Crash, Ride & Hats: They are very good cymbals for the price. They are very responsive and have great volume. They are strong and will last a long time if you store and look after them properly.

What I Do NOT Like About The Paiste 302 Crash, Ride & Hats: Although this is being particularly picky.....i find the crash is too warm and the ride has some annoying overtones. Also i found that the hi-hats work best when swapped around(bottom on top)as the heavier bottom cymbal produces a sharper, cleaner sound.

Paiste 302 Crash, Ride & Hats Quality Rating: I have had these cymbals around 4 years and they have been played most days and gigged about once a week. They have no signs of cracking or keyholing and feel very robust. I am very pleased with the way they have lasted.

Review Summary: Brilliant cymbals for a drummer looking to upgrade from those supplied with some kits, such as the pearl and peavey cymbals. Although looking back i do wish i had paid a little extra for the paiste 402's which are of much better quality and sound so instead of purchasing the 302's maybe you should save a little more.....

Rating of this Paiste product: 4

Paiste PST 5 10" Splash - Paiste knows their sheet bronze, and their lower-line models prove it. I recommend not only this 10" Splash, but the rest of the PST 5 money. Paiste sound and quality at 1/4 of the price. Highly recommended!...

Paiste 302 series 14" Hi-Hats - I would not recommend these to someone even as a beginner who is thinking about playing live or getting serious in a band, because even if they do work for a while, your gonna end up shelling out a lot more a few years down the road for some proffesi...

Paiste 802 Hi Hats - Ive played Zildjian zxts, Sabian B8 pros, and for about the same price the 802's blow them away. After a year of owning them, i switched to new hihats ($240 zildjian a's), but for the first day i thought about goin back to the paistes. These are the ...
