On 2003-12-31, Dan gave this Carvin Guitar Amplifier a 2...(7257)
Purchase: I bought this head factory direct from Carvin after being tired of having my vintage Carvin tube amp break. I thought a rather cheap solid state head would do the job just fine and be more reliable. I payed $360 for the head, but with the foot pedal it was $400.
Pros: It was very light and easy to transport. Also it didn't sound half bad.
Cons: It didn't put out the great tone I was looking for and it was cheaply designed and manufactured.
Quality: Poor, that's what I have to say. The input jack was made out of plastic and stripped after a couple weeks of use, which caused it to become very loose and unable to tighten. I asked Carvin for another input jack but this time metal, but they sent me another plastic one which simply stripped again. I am not happy with it.
Summary: Not bad for the money, but it would be worth it to pay a little more for something better.
