History:
Purchase: Bought it from a private seller on Ebay. Paid $235. I bought it because the photos on ebay were stunning and it's exactly the kind of guitar I wanted
What I Like About This Yamaha SA50: It's a 335 clone made in 1970. It has highly figured flamed maple with an amber color that really shows the wood grain.
What I Do NOT Like About The Yamaha SA50: It had some problems with the pots and switches, but the seller agreed to help pay for the repairs. Took it to a good tech who soon had it working great.
Yamaha SA50 Quality Rating: This was made back when the big companies like Gibson and Fender were having to file law suits against companies like Yamaha for copying their designs too closely. The craftsmanship is outstanding.
Review Summary: As a teenager in 1970 I could not have afforded a quality guitar like this one. I was very pleased to be able to buy such a quality instrument for a good price, that came from my era.
