Purchase: I bought the rp-200 because I wanted a bunch of effects to use and I had heard this was a good unit for that. I bought it from Old Towne Music and payed $170 for it. Pros: Good quality effects for the most part. Metal housing. I liked that it came with a power supply. The expression pedal works well after it is used for a little while. When you set the expression pedal to volume, it works very well. Cons: Cheap, plastic footswitches look like they won't hold up. They are also too close together. Wah effect sounds electronic. The distortions are my major gripe with this unit. They are fuzzy without the noise gate and just don't seem to 'crunch' like the amps it models. Also, you can't use amp distortion or a distortion pedal with the RP-200 because of the horrible hissing and feedback that occurs. You can't even put the rp-200 on a clean tone and have your distortion over top of that. You must first go into to the bypass mode on the rp-200 and then turn on your distortion. It's very disappointing to only be able to use the otherwise good effects with only the unit's distortions. Tuner is not as accurate as I would like. Quality: It looks like it could hold up generally well except for the two footswitches. Summary: Anyone who plays in a band will find this unit completely useless. Only people who enjoy sounding mediocre will want or use this pedal. Good effects but bad distortions make this box a waste of money. However, others on this site seem to like it as well as people I have talked to about it. Give it a try. On 2001-12-01, Mike gave this Digitech Guitar Effects a 5...(935)
Purchase: I bought it at a Mars Music in Albany, NY. I bought it mainly because I did not want to spend like $400 on a whole bunch of different pedals. So I spent 135 because Mars had a 10% off sale. Pros: Its very versetile, the presets are awesome, and you can edit your own sound, to fit your needs. It goes from Metal, to blues, to jazz...and whatever else you need. Cons: I dont like the fact that it does not give you too many ways to edit each effect, and it kinda has a small variety of cabinet choices. Quality: It is built like a rock. It has already been kicked, stepped on, and everything other than smashed with a hammer, and it still suits me well. Summary: Awesome, Awesome buy...for the money it's probably the best of the market.
