Purchase: Bought at a local music store for $480. Pros: Almost everything! The neck feel is there... and what i like most is the affordabilty of this instrument and better, its made by fender!!! Cons: The only flaw of this guitar is the pick-ups. But that depends where is it made from or manufacture from. If your squier strat is china and indonesian made, expect the worse to happen from the pickups. Most recommended get a Korean or Mexican made Squier Guitars..theirs have the quality! Quality: Overall its "ALMOST" like a fender...only the name at the headstock adds "SQUIER" hehe! ANd since mine is Korean made Squier Strat, i would say the workmanship rating is 8/10. Summary: *no comments*

Purchase: I got this guitar for £199.99 at argos. I got it because there were other guitars more expensive but this price was fine. Pros: You can play this guitar really easy, the frets really easy to solo on. Cons: The sound is a bit like a banjo on the fender amp but on a marshall its pretty good. Quality: This guitar has a pretty good structure but it isn't the best. Summary: This is a good guitar for beginers.

Purchase: I bought it at a local Guitar Center, used for $130.
I liked the way that it played in the store. Pros: I used to like Stratocasters until I got this one.
I got a couple of days of good playing time out of this guitar.
Cons: It doesn't stay in tune.
Quality: Poor. Summary: I would not recommend this guitar for anyone who cares about intonation.

Purchase: My brother bought this guitar as part of a package from at argos for £199.99. Pros: I like the finish on this guitar (a sort of dark sunburst) first of all. I also like the depth of the body, it is quite thin and lightweight making it easy to handle standing up. Another good point would be that it is excellent for playability in a huge amount of styles of music (classical, hard rock, punk, classic rock and metal etc.). Cons: The guitar is uncomfortable for sitting with. And the whammy bar is the same as fitted on alot of fenders and squiers and, if overtightened just a little can and will snap off completely. Quality: The guitar is built well and feels like it will last forever. This squier in particular has survived being dropped out of a window somehow and is still in excellent condition. The jack slot in the guitar is a bit dodgy and, the whammy bar, as i said earlier is knackered.
Playability wise the guitar is pretty sound, the amp I got the guitar with has a pretty poor sound quality but through my big marshall amp the guitar sounds great. Summary: Overall this guitar is great for a beginner, it is easy to adapt to any style. It is great value for money and has good playability.

Purchase: I bought this as my first guitar, becuase I was getting sick of my epiphone acoustic. I bought it at media play in the package for $200 Pros: First of all, it looks like a fender./ ITs cheap, and the strings that came with this guitar are amazing, very fast, differnt from other strings on other squier strats, and the action is set at just the right height. Cons: I don't like the pickups, they're cheap. also, once i took out the tremolo bar, i couldn't get it back in. It dents sort of easily Quality: quality is decent, nothing has broken yet, except it has those hairline fracures where the neck meets the body. the bolt on neck isn't great, but everything else is good Summary: for a beginner guitarist, this is for you, i payed 200 for the guitar, 10W amp, tuner, strap, and picks. I would recommend saving and extra 150 and buying a mexican strat though because it is a more worthwhile purchase and you won't want to buy a diferent guitar.

Purchase: American Musical Supply for $199.95, free shipping. Pros: Squire had an offer for a Stratocaster with
an alder body and alnico magnet pickups.
I believe this is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen let alone owned. It is sort of a color copy of the Gibson heritage cherry sunburst. Absolutely a perfect finish. When I open the case it just looks so gorgeous against the black fur lining. This guitar has every complaint against Squire guitars covered! Tight sealed tuners, 3 blocks of alder body, alnico pickups, AND it is already setup to play! If I spent 20 hours on it I probably couldn't make the action any better. This is a solid, beautiful guitar and it stands on it's own as a Strat. If this is how they make them now, no one will be ashamed to be on stage
playing a Squire. Maybe I got lucky, but this is one sweet guitar. Cons: Something this good should say Fender USA on it, but the only complaint is that Squire in China made a few bad guitars for a while and the reputation for shoddiness abounds.
I just bought a Mexican Stratocaster fresh from the factory and it is just as good as this one and they weigh exactly the same.
They both have the alder body and weigh 7 pounds, 12 ounces. Quality: Fender has always made sure the finish on their guitars is absolutely beautiful. Heck it may not play worth a darn but they sure look good. I think Fender is listening to the complaints about the Strats of all persuasions
needing a thorough going over before they can be played and they are making some real "player ready" guitars. At least I got two that are super. If this is how Fender is doing it now then the other manufacturers better pull their socks up and make some better quality instruments or Fender will roll right over them. (Even more) Summary: If you need a guitar to play gigs and you are a real working slob, you owe it to yourself to go and play a fresh new, not an old, Squire Strat. It's the same quality as the Mexican Strat but without the Fender logo on the head.
The Mexican Strat is a super deal also and that Fender name means a lot to the idiots in the audience. Anyway, I couldn't be happier,
the new Squires are really solid.

Purchase: I got this guitar a looooong time ago when I was 6 or 7 and didn't know what was good. I needed a new guitar, I had one, but 1 isn't enough, pretty bad choice I made when I think about it, which I am older and very much experienced and know what sounds good and what is good, and a Squire is not good at all!!! Pros: Wow, don't EVER buy one of these, unless you have a show to play and need a junky guitar to SMASH! They are only good for smashing, they even smash like garbage, but it is always fun to smash guitars! Even for a beginner, you will sound bad as a beginner, but don't make yourself sound even worse by buying a Squire Strat!!! The only thing I like about it is the tremolo. I have a bunch of guitars, Les Pauls, a few Fender Strats and Teles, every JS guitar, and 2 PRS's! My JS's have the locking trems., they are great, the Squire has the junky tremolo, I go crazy with it, break every string, go whammy crazy!!! Then, I end up smashing it!!! I do rip the junky tremolo apart though, when it is used like how I destroy it, it just comes right off!!! The neck snaps too easily, ruins the fun!!! Cons: EVERYTHING!!! The worst pickups!!! The switches and knobs go out very quickly!!! Junk! Junk! Junk! The worst guitar!!! I am sure there are even worse guitars, but this is one of the worst I have ever played!!! The neck snaps too quickly, it ruins the fun too quickly!! You can't be a serious guitarist with a Squire!!! Quality: I won't even fill this in, I will fill up pages on how much a Squire is absolute trash!!! They even break like cheap junk!!! Summary: You can't be takin seriously with a Squire, only fun to smash or destroy!!! Beginners, you will sound bad as a beginner, but don't make yourself sound even worse by getting any Squire guitars!!! I would rate it a -5 if possible, gotta give it a 1, even though it deserves negatives!!!!! But a one for kinda fun to smash on stage!!!

Purchase: I was interested in playing the electric guitar alot, i really wanted to learn the electric guitar so i could join a band and become a musician so as a beginner, i was looking for a cheap guitar to start with. I purchased my guitar from Argis and got a great deal for a beginner, it was 200 pounds from Argos included was a lead, a strap, a learners book, CD and VCR and amp. Pros: I liked the look of the guitar, it looked like an old guitar, not in a second hand way it looked 'traditional' like a classic guitar. It isnt too heavy, its pretty light weight. The sound is below average in my oppinion, i think thats what lets the guitar down. Cons: The strings never stay in tune or in place, they always loosen and you always have to retune them. For a beginner this is ok but for a regular band user, this will be really annoying. If you pluck a string a little heavy, the string will vibrate and produce a vibrating noise which isnt very impressive if you are playing infront of an audience. Quality: The guitar has been made pretty well, it could be a little bit lighter. The body is real smooth and the edges are defined well. The shape makes it look like a real classic guitar. The tone changer makes the sound distorted and crackling like and the tuning coils are not sturdy enough and can move out of place if you are moving the guitar fast. Summary: I would advise a beginner to purchase this guitar, but with a better quality amplifier as if you use a less than average amplifier, the sound and tone will be very off putting. The guitar is great for the price and is handy for a beginner. I would advise a person to tune the guitar every day too make sure that they get the ebst tune iof sound.

Purchase: i bought this guitar and long and mcQuade for about 400 dollars that with tax in came with the hole nine yards of a starter guitar i started playing guitar about 2 years ago and the guitar is still holding up Pros: This guitar can take a beating it has a beautiful maple neck coverd in rose would. the pick-ups could be better but they are really easy to adjust. no problems with switches or knobs, And the sound is aswome i say its a great deal for a strat for afordable too. that amp the comes with it is a 12 watt fender amp with everything aswome sound. Cons: things i dont like about hmmm... well the pick ups like i said before and screws are hard to replace if you lose them. the input tends to loosen up alot and the wood always gets striped if you play loud from the sound waves frrom the amp on high. Quality: this guitar is built solid. besides wood stripping but then again i also play around with it alot. this guitar is very light unlike gibson whoa i tried those out before crazy
Summary: i suggest you should defanetly get this guitar if you are a new comer and later on when you get better just upgrade like i did or buy a new one

Purchase: I bought a rather fetching 3 tone sunburst squier stratocaster in a starter pack from Sound Control in Birminham, UK. It cost roughly £200, withsaid guitar, a small 10w practice amp, 3 free picks, a tutorial cd and video. Pros: It looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet. Cons: The first one I got, the tremolo arm cross threaded, and no humbucker, like my mates Fender... :( Quality: On my new, current one... excellent. Summary: It rules, and I learnt my first solo (AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long' on it. 4th position pickup selection sounds best. So I took it back and got it replaced with a newer guitar with a better action and unbelievably good fretboard..? I upgraded! For free!

Purchase: I bought this guitar, dig this, at a yard sale for 20 bucks. It was a mess, scuffed up and very dirty, as if it had sat in a damp dusty place for a long time. Pros: I prefer the Squire strats, particularly the Indonesian ones, over the american and Mexican ones, simply because the american and Mexican made ones are of inconsistant quality, and I have never seen an american strat that was either easy to set up or held a setup once you did it. This strat has a rock hard neck that keeps its shape. I set it up twice, once when I cleaned it up (it looks new now, just needed cleaned and buffed out) and then again a couple weeks later (which is how I always set guitars up, if the truss rod needs much adjusting). I set the strings lower than on any strat I have seen, and it does not fret out anywhere. For some reason, it is hard to set american strats up with low action, they tend to have this weird buzz that does not really sound like fret buzz at the 5th -12 fret on the 6th string. This one does not do that, and the fretwork is excellent, I generally need to level and dress the frets on most guitars I aquire. Not this time, or for that matter, with any of the Korean guitars I have bought. They just seem to know how to put frets in right across the water. The only thing I might change on this guitar is the pickguard, which is nice, but only 1 ply, I would like to put a mother- of-toiletseat one on it. The electronics are great, nice and quiet considering it is single coils, and they have that nice strat tone. they are a little hotter and have a little fatter tone than most strats I have played. Hot AND tonal is hard to find.
Also, the tuners are well made, they look like gotohs, and gotohs are the best I have used as far as durability and tuning. gotohs have a high tuning ration, which makes the tuning more precise. Changing strings however, can be a bitch without a winder, being as the ration is higher and you have to turn it more times per wind. big deal. what you get in accuracy is more than what you give up in the tedium of changing the strings. Cons: If I had paid 250 for this guitar, I would still be happy with it. I have been playing for going on 40 years, and this thing is a gem. It sounds right, it plays right, and, impossible for a strat, it stays in tune, all the time. I pick it up and play it, even if the studio has been cold over night, the guitar holds it's tune. THAT is rare. Quality: It is typical strat construction, the body is somewhat heavy for a strat, which, I prefer heavy guitars, they are denser wood and sustain a little better. The fretboard is maple, not sure of what the other woods are, but whatever they are, they are the right choice, they have good tone, and the neck is as steady as if it was made of steel. I have an old framus with a laminated neck that is impossible to change shape, and this neck seems to be like that, it never changes. Summary: I am amazed at the superior quality of guitars in general coming from the far and near east. They must have fantastic quality control, you seldom see a korean, indonesian, chinese or especially japanese guitar that is not precise and well made, and, they are all IDENTICAL, they seem to be all stamped out of a mold made of granite or something, I mean, they are all so close it amazes me. You can pick up ten identical american made guitars up, and every one is different. Not so with those made overseas, I can't figure it out.

Purchase: I bought this guitar in Winnipeg, Manitoba at St. Johns Music (Yamaha). I paid about $320 Canadian for it. It was my first guitar. Pros: The sound is great. The tuning knobs are easy to use and are stylish. The 3 pickups work great. The look of the guitar is great but not original :P. 21 frets of goodness. The bridge and saddles are great. The look of the head is not original again but i like it alot. The finish is great! I have a really nice red colour it looks soooo good. Cons: The input hole has a nut on it that always comes loose... but thats normal for guitars that have the same style. The pickup changer knob comes loose pretty easy but not too loose. There was a little bit of buzzing when i first got but when i played around with the saddles a bit it went away sounding great. Quality: The quality of this guitar is great and its durable. I dont think they lacked on the construction in any areas... Summary: Bottom line this guitar is great for pros and amateurs. It is easy and fun to play. Alot better than the Squier P-Bass lol that thing is a piece.

Purchase: I got this guitar at Jasper Music in jasper Indiana. I think i payed about 400 bucks for it and a Champ 15 amp that came with the guitar. I got ripped off because this thing is a piece of crap. The reason i am submiting this review is because no one esle should get ripped of with this hunck of crap. Pros: Ha Ha Ha, like something about a Squier. Who would like something about a Squire? Cons: I dought that they have enough on this web page for me to list all the things i dont like about this guitar, so i'll just keep it short. The pickups buzz louder than a jet engin. The volume knob is preaty much an on/off switch because the volume dosn't change frome 2-9 or so. The tone knobs are basically just there, taking up space because they dont do anything. The pickup switch is just taking up space also because, there is no difference in tonal qualities between the two extemes. This guitar has 3 pickups but only needs one because they dont sound any different. The thing has absolutly no sustane. To play any rock you must keep picking the strings untill your hand falls off. The sound is horrible. A piece on twine tied around both ends of a 2x4 with a microphone duct-taped in the middle would sound better. If
you blew hard on the wammy bar it would probably go out of tune. Saurry that was about as short as i could possibly make the list of dislikes Quality: The constructon is better than the sound but ultimatly crap. If you touch the wammy bar i think it might fall off. I am supprised this thing didn't fall appart as soon as i took it out of the box. I have seen guitars in the toy ile in wallmart that looked more sturdy. Summary: No offense to any Squire owners but you couldn't find a bigger log of crap in a Wallmart restroom. I am subbmitting this review in hopes that knowone else will make the same mistake i did of buying something like this. Trust me just save your money for a little longer and buy a quality guitar that you will be proud of. If there was a choice of giving this guitar a rating of below 1 i would do it.

Purchase: i got this guitar because it is just a great sounding guitar and at a very reasonable price of $200. Pros: i love the look of it, the shape and design is just amazing. Cons: uhmm, thats is tough. but i would have to say the pearl pick-gaurd. it looks good, but it doesnt fit the style and looks of the guitar. that is about it Quality: it is a "silverburst" paint job. alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, 5 position pick-up change and whammy-bar. and is
medium quality, enough for a medium beginner such as myself. Summary: uhmm, i just enjoy playing this guitar, in fact im a dabbling right now. i have been playing for about 3 months, nto much, but i love it. and you have to start somewhere dont you?

It looked like crap, the feel was horrible, the strings were shitty. the sounds were twangs on the low strings and on the high notes were tones that gave me a headache. It never kept it's tune either.
Quality: The construction of the guitar was alright.

Purchase: It was quiet good and I needed a second guitare for my shows. I bought it in Paris In California Guitares, I paid 310 Euros for it. Pros: It is light, really like a Fender strat, the sound is very good, the neck surprisingly comfortable, easy to play, and cheap. Cons: the tuning, It take me one week to settle the intonation properly. I also use some oil on the strings when I use the vibrato. Quality: this guitare have a black solid body whith white knobs a 5 position selector for the pick ups, 3 pick-ups and a nice thin neck with the normal mechanics. use with 0.10 - 0.56 strings set. Summary: overall this guitar is great to play with, I would suggest to change the mecanism or better still going for a nice floyd rose, so no intonation problem. pick ups are very nice...

Purchase: I purchased a Squire Strat, a Fender Frontman 8 inch Reverb amp, hardshell case, Zoom effects pedal, misc chords, a book, etc. as a Christmas present for my son last year for about $500 from Music 123.com. This was not one of those "Strat Paks"; I picked the items out separtely.
The Squire came in a brillinat candy-apple red with rosewood. Pros: This is a great looking guitar. The sound is very rich and clean and I thought the swithching and tone combinations offer very diverse combinations to modify the sound. Cons: I recently volunteered to "guitar-sit" for my son who is in Costa Rica for a couple of months. The damn ting would not stay in tune, even through one song. I took it in to a local Sam Ash store, and the tech placed a third spring in the back of the unit, adjusted the bridge and put new strings on it. Other than the cost of the springs, the tech did not charge me anything for his work.
After I got it home, I was extremely impressed with this guitar. Now that it stays in tune, it truly is fun to play and it sounds teriffic. Quality: Other than the bridge seeming to need some attention, I'd have to say the construction seems to be of the highest quality. The paint is metal flake candy apple red and there are no flaws or blemishes. The neck is straight and the strings are perfecty parrallel to the neck. The frets seem a little smaller than the frets on my friend's Mexican Strat, but for the money, this is certainly not an issue. Summary: I bought this guitar for my son who did not play guitar, but wanted to try it while he was away at college. I can't wait for him to return from Costa Rica and play it now because it must have been frustrating for him, especially a beginner, trying to learn how to play and all the wihle, the guitar was not staying in tune.

Purchase: I bought it from a guy, who didn't need it anymore, I got it for very little money, cca. less than 100$. Pros: For the price I've paid I got a LOT of "music"! Maybe I was just lucky to get such a good piece, but this one really "roars". i play funk, rock, blues music with it and it suits forr all of these styles! It rocks! Cons: The only thing I don't like about it that it goes of tune when I use the tremolo. So I usually play without it. It plays perfect then. Quality: It's solid, firm,... if you know Fender or Squier then you know how good they're built! Summary: A great guitar for the money you pay for it. The best choise for beginners, but I recommend it also for more advanced players if they don't like it just to own a expensive guitar to look great. IT ROCKS!!!

Purchase: I got this guitar in a starter kit that also came with an amp, tuner, a little manual, some picks, and some other random stuff. It was about $200, I think. Pros: This is an exellent guitar for people learning to play. It's very well made for the price, and has all the features that a more expensive guitar would. Cons: It isn't the best guitar in the world, so it does have minor issues. The action isn't the best, it doesn't stay in tune for very long, and the neck on mine is warped, but that might not happen to everyone. Quality: Like I said, it has certain flaws, but they aren't that bad. You'll be able to deal with them. Summary: Again, the perfect beginner's guitar. Inexpensive, and easy to learn on. Purchase: I paid £120 From the argos catalogue,
i bought it as my first guitar. This guitar is made in China. Pros: Umm well it looks ok, its got quite a nice plastic black finish to it. it has 22 frets, 3 single coil pickups (im struggling here) and it was quite reliable. is better than a Hohner. Cons: Where do i start? After a little while the neck started to bow, the frets buzzed, if you strummed the strings too hard the truss rod in the neck would vibrate making a horibble noise, there was next to no varnish on the fret bored, the pickups sound so thin and tinny,
when i opened it up i dicovered random bits of metal stuck to the back of the pick ups, screws coming thru from underneath where the trem had been screwed in, cracking paint and badly fitted joints. Quality: awful, looks nice enough from the outside, open it up and find allsorts of surprizes and surplace bits of metal.
This guitar was put together by some blind one armed chinese 5 year old. (poor kid tried his best, what do you want for 3cents an hour) Summary: if u dont want to spend much money then this is the guitar for you! if you are going to buy a squier please (for your own sake) dont buy a chinese one! there are much better budget guitars around like tanglewood or for a bit more an Epiphone.

Purchase: I wanted to start learning so i bought it from a music shop for about £200 with strings, case, amplifier and tutor video (which was crap) and a lead.
Pros: Its easy to play, well constructed and light and looks the part as well. Black and red are the best colours.
Cons: Cracks are appearing on the back, and sometimes when a string breaks its annoying and difficult to get the string ball out. also when playing shotgun the pickup selection switch cathces the hand which is annoying.
Quality: Well constructed, good quality and looks great although cracks and dents easily.
Summary: Great value for money - looks the part, plays well, and overall a great guitar.
