On 2008-06-12, Doc rated this ESP TA-500 a 5...(12983)
History: I have played Bass for 30 years, was awarded a scholarship, played as a hobbiest and professional. I've owned Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Cordenza, Ibanez and ESP.

Purchase: I purchased this Bass off the internet for $399.
Pros: The ESP TA-500 plays, looks, and feels GREAT. I was looking for an Alder body, Maple neck thru-body and EMG P/Us. This Bass has it all. I use fingers and play very hard. She takes everything I throw at her. Fender, Rick, Gibson, etc have taken a back seat to my TA-500. What else can I say. THANKS
Cons: ESP stopped making this model.
Quality: Alder body, maple neck thru body construction. EMG P/Us with active EQ. Top quality, try to keep up!

Review Summary: I've owned 9 Bass guitars, all top name brands. Now I own ONE, the ONLY ONE, ESP TA-500....

Purchase: 399 musiciansfriend
Pros: I like the neck thru construction, excellent sustain, real low tones, the active eq allows you to find some real killer sounds
Cons: the action is a little high for me
Quality: the construction is great, high quality, the emg's are awesome

Review Summary: this is my first real quality bass,i'd have a hard time finding one i liked as much as this one,ESP stopped making this model,so i guess if i had to replace it, i'd go with a TA-600
