On 2004-01-12, Chiari rated this Fender Jagstang a 5...(7476)

Purchase: My boyfriend got his Jag about two years ago. He got it off of e-bay and paid $180. He was in a band called Misled Youth at the time and now he is the singer and guitarist of the Virgin Suicides (tvsmusic.cjb.net).
Pros: I love the sound. The Jag itself was designed by Kurt Cobain and it's a cross between the Mustang and the Jaguar. The nick is thin which makes it easy to hold the strings down. Since it's easy to hold the strings down, the strings don't vibrate or hum. It's a great guitar for solos because you can easily move around the neck, great for slides. Really light.
Cons: It's not a good guitar for beginners. the strings are really thin and beginners tend to not have the callouses of a seasoned guitarist. In short, your fingers hurt after playing it if you're not used to it.
Quality: It's fiesta red, iridescent pickguard, mother of pearl pickups. It has a thin body and thin neck, but makes a great sound for such a little guy. Since it is a combination of two guitars, it has the best of both worlds.

Review Summary: The Jagstang is one of the best guitars out there. It was designed by a musical genius, kurt cobain, and is an amazing guitar. It has a great look and even better sound. Go get one!
