Purchase: I got this guitar from "The guitar shop" in Mississauga, ONT. I got it for around 1100 bucks canadian and that is a sick deal.
Pros: I love this guitar! It's amazing! It is so clear and the tone is right on! The neck is so fast and the finish is awesome! (Chrome Red)The pickups handle every note and the rods in the pickups are placed perfectly.
Cons: It doesnt come in lots of colors but oh well, who really cares.
Quality: Solid. Although the body is made of Alder wood, it is light and easy to play. Tuning keys hold stay in tune through some tough bends.

Review Summary: Sick guitar.... buy it now

Purchase: I got this guitar as a gift for my 21st birthday so I don't know how much it cost, but I do know it was bought new. So you could probobly guess how much it might have cost...there's enough of these things to compare it to. Its a 1999 model.
Pros: Not much. Maybe the color is alright though. It does hold it's tune well and intonation is not bad.
Cons: Where to start. The pickup selector is put in a horrible place (not convenient), the pickups sound wimpy and generic (I hate the fact that almost everything played sounds like a Stevie Ray Vaughn lick). The neck feels weak (like I could break it off just by pulling back on the neck while playing). There is no way this thing would last in a live gig. The volume and tone knobs are hard to reach while playing and offer very little tone difference when turned. I guess overall the guitar has no real character of its own. (I've played other Strats and I find the same thing).
Quality: Its made decently enough but so are alot of guitar in this price range.

Review Summary: The Strat is probobly one of the most over-rated guitars ever built. For the price it offers nothing special. Very one dimensional, no individuality. I can't wait to sell it. Spend your cash on something that suits your character, not on this just because of the name.

Purchase: I bought it a Grandma's in Albuquerque, NM for $800.
Pros: The sound, the ease with which it plays and the look.
Cons: There is nothing I don't like about it.
Quality: The quality is outstanding; perfect.

Review Summary: This is exactly what I wanted. Don't spend less and get the Mexi model or the Highway 1. There is a difference between the models.

Purchase: Bought at www.thomann.de for about $600
Pros: It is very good to play as it has an excellent handling. The corpus is heavy and very balanced. The neck is u-shaped and has a very good feeling to it. Mixture of humbucker and single-coil (2)is interesting for a variety of sounds
Cons: The switch for changing between humbucker and single-coil seems to be in the way a bit and certainly doesn't look extremely robust.
Quality: Excellent constructin, except switch mentioned above.

Review Summary: I'd buy it again any day.

Purchase: $700...Aurora music in Aurora Colorado.
Pros: I was looking to upgrade from my Korean stratVery comfortable neck and awesome tone from the stock pickups. Great setup from the factory (intonation ect)
Cons: Still minor tuning problems if you use the tremolo. Not equipped w/ a roller nut or graphite nut.
Quality: . Great finish and the neck is very smooth neck. Great tuners too.

Review Summary: An all round great guitar but needs some work to keep the tuning in place when using the tremolo bar. Nice SRV type tone.

Purchase: OK... Well I bought this instrument 1 year ago, I paid 650 USD for it (it was new).. I was learning to play and I want a good instrument.... something that make me play more and more and something that inspires me to make music..... and I Found it !! a Beautiful Black American Standard Stratocaster with Tremolo.
Pros: Well.. When you start to play a Original Stratocaster you feel something strange... You can fell the notes in your fingers... Maybe this is not the most expensive instrument in the world.. but this instrument have history, reputation, fame, etc etc... When I plugged in to my fender amp I listen that classic noise that single coil pickups produce.. but hey!! this is a Strat!! a Real Strat!!!, I play mainly Heavy Metal and the single coils are not the perfect choice for that music, so I changed the pickups for a dimarzio fast track 2 in the bridge and neck position and a fast track 1 in the middle, they are noiseless and with more gain and better character in distortion. But for a clear sound thats nothing like a strat with good single coils.
Cons: : I dont like the factory setup !! The strings are too high and the intonation is totally crazy, the pickup height are acceptable but not the best. Personally I Dont like the stock single coils (delta tone).
Quality: HEY !! This is the American Version of the strat, the finish is beautiful, clean its like a mirror, if you look at directly you can see your face and your smile in the strat body. The fretwork is exact, and the finish in the fretboard is wonderful, when you put your fingers there, you feel a very very relaxan position that inspires you to play, Its a very very gooood guitar...

Review Summary: Well this is the original strat, when you got it you got the same guitar that hendrix, clapton, srv !!.. you can feel like they felt with their guitars.. that inspires you to create more music and learn some more... if you are a bluesman, the strat is a have to.
