Purchase: I bought this from a music store in Shreveport, Shreveport Music, for about $480, I bought it because it is very easy to use and the Invader humbucker is perfect for the music I play. Pros: This guitar is so awesome. It's perfect for blink songs, duh, and can play any kind of music. The Invader humbucker pumps out loud fat distortion and awesome clean tones. This guitar sounds awesome through my Marshall's distortion. Cons: One thing I don't like are the vintage tuners, because it slips out of tune SO easily. I'm going to get some locking tuners soon. Quality: It's a Fender so its awesome quality and construction. Awesome guitar with the 70's neck. Review Summary: BUY THIS GUITAR!!

Purchase: It all started when I got a Squier Affinty Stratocaster. I owned it for about two years. The wiring inside kept snapping off the input. I paid, well let me just say I paid too much for something I could have done. Finally, the wire snapped off for the last time. I said to myself, "The heck with this, I've spent so much money on getting this cheap Stratocaster, that I could...that I could...BUY A DELONGE!". So, I went to my local music shop(Fred's Music www.fredsmusic.com) and went guitar hunting. To my suprise, I saw in the Fender section, right smack dab in the center, a beautiful monster. It's white perloid pickguard screamed to my ears, the vintage 70's Head Stock screamed all of Jimi Hendrix's solos, and, the humbucker. Well, the humbucker screamed my genre. PUNK ROCK! I thought,"Wow I am so lucky. They usually keep the American Series Stratocaster there. The DeLonge is just sitting there..". I asked a clerk if I could play with it a little bit on a Marshall VS2000 AVT100. He let me like any respectible music store should. After about five minutes of playing a mix of Blink-182 fragments and other Punk Bands, another clerk come to me. "Are you going to buy that thing bro, because uh dude, you play that thing like it is uhhh yours or something"(Yes, the clerk was a totally air head but understood what was happening). From that moment on, me and my DeLonge have had a bond. I've had it seven months. I always gig with it. It is one of the best guitars Fender has made contributing to music today without bands buying regular Stratocaster and getting costom pickguards for them so it is one High Output Humbucker and a single volume knob. Not only is the most convient Punk guitar made, but it is also the best for less. I paid $529.99 for my DeLonge, and it angers me a little that I can find it cheaper now, but I am still a proud owner of a Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster. Pros: I really like how everything on the guitar blends. If you have ever seen a Fender DeLonge(not the Squier knock-off), it is really appealing to the eye. When you gig with this guitar, it is more likly to have people paying more attention to the band than talking to a pal. The vinatge 70's Head Stock is classy, appealing, yet original to the DeLonge. It give it a lot of it's flavor. The vintage tuners also give it spice. Personally, it would look horrible with standard tuners. It is a hard tail bridge. Meaning, it is very similar to the Telecaster bridge, only a Stratocaster Body. This helps keep the guitar in tune. On regular Stratocasters, the brige is supported with springs for the whammy bar. This can cause the guitar to go out of tune. Cons: There is nothing that I do not like about the DeLonge. The only thing I do not like is that my DeLonge is black and the rosewood fret board makes it less appealing to the eye since roosewood is dark and so is the guitar body. Quality: Everything that should be put here, is throughout the whole review. Please re-read the review for the wonderful details of this magnificent guitar. Review Summary: Grade A Punk Guitar. Distortion is excelent, clean is excent. I recommend this guitar for Punk Rock, Metal, and Emo Core. On 2002-11-17, rated this Fender Tom Delonge Signature Stratocaster a 5...(3048)
Purchase: I still haven't bought this guitar. I played it twice at the shop. it sells for 759$ Can. Pros: This is an amazing guitar. I love the fat sound u get from the Invader pickup. At first, when i saw that it had only one pickup and no tone button, i didn't think it'd be that great, but i was pretty damn impressed. This is the perfect guitar if u play punk/alternative or any sorta heavy music Cons: I personally don't not like anything about this guitar, but if ur looking for an axe thats versatile, that u can play lotsa different kinds of music on, dont get it. get the Fender Texas Fat Strat instead. But, all i play is punk so thats why i like it. Quality: Amazing. This ###### is built like a tank. I bet if i were to buy this in the future, that it'd last a long time. Review Summary: Once again, this is a ###### sick guitar for anyone who plays punk. I CANT WAIT TILL I GET ONE! On 2002-09-01, Andy M rated this Fender Tom Delonge Signature Stratocaster a 5...(2645)
Purchase: www.flyingpigmusic.co.uk - £420 with gigbag Pros: When i saw this guitar for the first time, i started saving, just looking at it makes you wanna play it. The surf green colour, the single seymour duncan with single volume knob, hardtail bridge, this guitar had everything i wanted, on my affinity squier which has lasted me a year i never used the neck or middle pickups, i never used the two tone dials, and i never used the tremolo, so i realised simplicity was my thing, which the tom delonge has. Secondly as i mainly play music like blink and green day which has good punk tone i guessed its the guitar for me. Cons: The only thing i don't like and may change is the vintage tuners, i prefer the standard tuners, but that can be changed at a local store. Not a problem! Quality: Everything was perfect, the finish, the string height, but of course if anything was faulty i'd assume it could be fixed at a local music store. Review Summary: Great sounding, looking and overall guitar, definate buy for a punk rock player and someone who has found there style, not for beginners as it doesn't offer alot of options. Good price tag for an ultra cool guitar! Great buy! On 2001-11-24, Matt rated this Fender Tom Delonge Signature Stratocaster a 4...(880)
Purchase: I got this guitar at Musicians Friend for $500. I got this guitar because I needed a guitar that had fat tone and I didn't want to buy a guitar and then upgrade the pickup. Pros: I like this guitar because it has fat tone with the Seymour Duncan invader. Plus it looks real cool. The color is rich, smooth, and bright. When I picked this guitar up i found that it was easy to play and it sounded great even without an amp which could only mean great amplified sound! It has a vintage look to it with a 70's headstock and vintage tuners and the pearloid pickguard adds depth to the overall look. It comes with a hardtail bridge which also translates into fat tone as well as the pickup. It only has one volume nob and is extremely simple. Rhythms were extremely fat and sound great. Cons: It has a hardtail bridge so it doesn't have that stratocaster tremo twang to it. It was a bit heavy but that makes for good sound. The guitar didn't have a neck pickup which made solos to a lot of songs sound off in tone and they had a certain muddiness to it and quite frankly lacked versatility. Its a bit hard to keep in tune. Quality: It has great quality. Even for a mexican strat. The finish was excellent. The neck is shaped well. The pickup is amazing and i would recommend it as an upgrade to anyone that wants fat tone. What more can I say, its a great looking and sounding guitar. Review Summary: If you want fat tone and great looks and simplicity all in one then get this guitar. But I the only thing this guitar lacks is versatility so i would only recommend this guitar to people who know exactly what they want and not to a beginner. Beginners should stick with a more versatile guitar until they find what kind of music they really want to play and see the fine tonal aspects of a guitar. Purchase: I ordered this guitar from Musicians Friend. I paid $500. Pros: I love everything about it, the surf green color, 70s headstock, pearloid pickguard, Seymore Duncan Invader Humbucker. I also love the price. Its a good price for a great guitar. The sound is awesome. Cons: The only thing i dont like is......well nothing, what can i say? its a great guitar. Quality: The fretboard is rosewood which i prefer over maple. It was made in Mexico which i was apprehensive about at first but it was worth it. Review Summary: Great guitar. Go buy one.
