You can't go wrong with this guitar. Because I played some 2003 Strats I have to say that I saw a difference also between the 2000 model I bought and the 2003 models. Perhaps it was just the individual guitars. Also one store I went to had Strats new but they had been played and dinged and still wanted full price. [read more on Audiofanzine]
