Mesa Boogie Blue Angel Dual Rectifier Reviews
Mesa Boogie should have kept the amp in production since this was a great sounding unit. I know they have been pushing other classic Fender style amps lately, but this was a winner in my book.
You cannot buy these new anymore so the used market is the only way to go in my opinion. I have seen these amps go for anywhere in between %500 and %7... [read more on Audiofanzine]iamqman

I bought this amp off a band down the street i've been jamming with. I got it for 500 bucks used, which is a heck of a deal. It is only 2 years old and could never be sounding better.
There is so much to like about this amplifier. First off it is called Dual Rectifier which means you have a choice of which tubes and how many watts you wanna use. You can choose the 2 6V6 tubes which produce 15 watts of power. Then you can choose to use the 4 EL84 tubes which produce a nice 33 watts. Then you got both of them combined which equals 38 watts of nice warm tube tone. Its loaded with 2 10 inch speakers or you can buy the 1 12 inch speaker. I prefer the 2 10 inchers. The amp only has 5 knobs; volume, treble, mid, bass, and reverb. The nicest sounding 5 knob amplifier ever! It is a great gigging amp and recording too.
There is nothing really to complain about, but the only thing would be the knob to switch the tubes it gets a little dirty sometimes and you need to spray some contact cleaner in there to keep it working good, but its not a big problem at all.
This amp is great. It is on wheels which is great because it beats carrying it around everywhere. The tubes are easy to change and its built great. I don't know you might have to put the wheels on yourself.
If you like to play the blues then this is the amp for you. It is NOT a heavy metal amp or punk rock amp unless you got a pedal but you shouldn't need a pedal. Use the amps natural tones.Blues Man Dan
