Remo 22' Clear Ambassador Head Reviews 5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI was recently introduced to this drumhead through our engineer and producer who is currently recording our new album. I think it's the very first time I ever play with a single ply head on my kick drum. He mentioned that he had recently recorded some other drummer who was using the Ambassador and that he got a very cool, enormous kick sound, so we tried it out for one of our new songs. I must say, I don't know why I haven't play with this head before. We achieved this 'Bonham-ish' sound that was incredible.
I paid $40 for this head, but I'm sure you can get it for less at Guitar Center or Sam Ash.

Because of it's made of a single ply, this head gives a really bright attack with a very long sustain. I recorded my kick drum in this huge room and the drums sounded amazingly big. I paired this head with a coated one on the resonant side with no hole just to give a little warm effect to it.
These are delicate heads, if you have a heavy foot, go for a double ply.
This Clear Ambassador Head is made of a single ply 10-mil Mylar film.
For achieving big, fat kick drum sound with a nice attack, this head is a perfect choice. mtebaldi rated this unit on 2010-05-31.
