Vic Firth Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson Signature Sticks Reviews 4

This is the signature pair Vic Firth came out recently for The Roots drummer Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson. What grabbed my attention on this drumstick is its length. With 17' is the longest on the Vic Firth catalog. Thinner than the 7A, this pair is super light and the tear drop shaped tip is tiny. It definitely gives you a lot of agility to play with them since you will barely feel you are actually holding sticks.

You can get these sticks for a price around $10. Mine were free through my Vic Firth endorsement.

I must say these are very fun to play with. They feel feel great and their anti-slip grip comfortable. They are designed for those with a more delicate approach to the kit, like jazz. If you are a 5B type of guy, you will brake them easily.

Besides really liking this pair, I wish it was a tiny bit thicker in diameter, and had a bigger tip. Maybe this would solve the problem of its fragility.

These drumsticks are 17' in length and .520 in diameter. White coated on top and with a rubbery anti-slip handle.

This pair does reflect ?uestlove and his roots' sound. For jazz and light drum styles, these sticks are an interesting choice.
