New range of amps from Ashdown at NAMM 2010

British bass amp heavyweight Ashdown has few promising new bass amps set to debut at NAMM 2010. Among the most interesting is the -- depending on your point of view -- unfortunately named or radically named Little Bastard. The LB is a 30-watt tube head that might be just right if you want that warm, easily-overdriven tube sound reminiscent of the old Fender Bassman tweed line. Front panel features High and Low gain inputs, Effects Send and Return, Bass, Middle and Treble controls with Mid Shift, Bass Shift and Bright switching, Mute switch and Volume control. There's also a balanced DI output.

Other models set to debut are the BTA 200, 300 and 400 tube heads (numbers indicate wattage); the 427 Small Block Head (427 watts); and the 550 Spyder Head and Touring Combo, which is a 550-watt solid state rack mount head with tube preamp in a 210 combo cabinet.
MSRP hadn't been announced as of mid-December 2009, but previosu ashdown prices have been in line with other high-end manufacturers such as Genz-Benz.
