Martin "Origins" Guitar

Martin has introduced there commemorative guitar they’re calling the X series “Origins” dreadnought. It is an all High Pressure Laminate guitar with some of Martins key builders painted on the soundboard of the guitar. It is a hand painted portrait that has been embedded into the top of the guitar. It includes Joel Toth, Gregory Dillard, George Savercool, Larry Fehnel, Joel Silvius, and Karen Kuntzman. Martin touts that combined; they have over 118 years of experience. It has a Corian nut and a Tusk saddle but no Grover tuners. Electronics are not an option but it can be ordered in a left hand version for no additional cost.

It is very bright and would be good for a collector wanting to hang it on the wall, but not a guitar to buy for a player. The guitar has an MSRP of $999. It does come with a hard case but the price is a bit steep for a guitar with no hardwoods. Martin claims the guitar sounds as beautiful as it looks… though it seems quite doubtful.
