Review: Toontrack Nashville EZX

In conjunction with Grammy nominated drummer Harry Stinson whose talents have been used in collaborations with artists such as Steve Earle, Martina McBride and Johnny Cash, as well as with Grammy winning Producer and Engineer Chuck Ainlay (Dire Straits, Sheryl Crowe, Dixie Chicks); Toontrack released Nashville EZX, an expansion for EZdrummer, with the goal to cover all the drum and beat needs of a Country music composer and producer. But the end result ended up going a bit beyond that.

Nashville EZX is another great sound library created by Toontrack that not only satisfies the music genre it was designed to be put to use in, but it can be ingeniously used on a much more vast array of music types, such as hip-hop, funk, rock and electronica. The Nashville EZX features a five-piece PB kit with Sabian cymbals whose sounds can be chosen between three types of sound textures; stick, brush and fingers (Yes, there is the possibility to have your drum kit hand played). A nice feature in the tom sound department is that you can opt for snare or no snare bleed, which can come in handy for some of your mixing needs. The splendor of the Nashville EZX is truly found in its gigantic MIDI grooves library. Cleverly organized under sticks, brushes and hands categories, each offering many style variations further categorized into intros, verses, chorus and fills. With such immense groove library options it is certain you will find the perfect beat for your composition. And as always, the folks from Toontrack offer a unique feature to every EZX pack. In the case of Nashville EZX, you will find a special fader in the Mixer view that enhances the mix with compressed room ambience, another nice tool for achieving your drumming goals.

Toontrack Nashiville EZX is another great library of sounds and grooves that can serve all songwriters and producers out there, especially for those working in the genre of Country music. With pro-quality drum recording samples and an almost endless list of grooves, Nashville EZX is a comprised country drumming collection that brings together the best there is in the genre.
