Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

Sommer Cables is a company that is new to me as of 2011. They are made in Germany and make some very high quality guitar cables. I bought these to use as professional level cables. Mostly for big shows and nicer recordings. It is subtle but a nice cable will enhance your sound.

I was FED UP with the crappy brand cables that are found in the US guitar stores. Well they are sold in the US and made for a dime or less in China. If you search Sommer Cables you can read up on their stats. They are very impressive. Anyway the Spirit XXL cable was $40 for a 20 foot instrument cable.

The cable sounds great and it has been with me for a few months of steady shows. The coating of the cable is great because I can wipe it down with a damp cloth or paper towel if it gets dusty or sticky from well who wants to know what can be found on a rock club stage!

None besides the fact that Sommer hasn't put the junky cable companies out of business yet!

The Spirit XXL is covered in a nice PVC mixture. It cleans and coils easily. The ends are a top shelf gold plated Hicon end.

Why drop the big bucks on a guitar and amp and then play an el cheapo cable? If you are looking for a top shelf cable look into Sommer's stuff.
