Harmony HW-90 Reviews 4

I bought this at Mar's Music for $240 and am not sure if I truly like it yet or not. The low's are fantastic and the highs are really good but the 3rd and 4th strings past the 3rd fret are kind of dull....It's definitely of great quality for the money paid though. It's got a solid top and ovangkol siding with a nice varnished finish. The main thing that bothers me is the girth of the neck I think. It takes time getting used to and I'm not there yet. Overall and for the money it's a fantastic guitar that beginners and enthusiasts might want to check out.

I love the materials used including the enclosed gold tuners and fret bar. The ovangkol back and sides and the solid spruce top make the lows and highs sound fantastic....Really seems to be a well put together guitar.

I'm not really fond of the 3rd and 4th strings after the 3rd fret..They seem to just "thump" rather than sing out but that could also be due to my experience (under a year)...My major dislike or unfavorite item would be the girth of the neck. The salesman at Mar's said it would help send more sound to the sound hole and I don't doubt that, but it's just uncomfortable.

Overall fantastic quality for a guitar under $500.. My only other guitar is a Seagull S6 and I love it but the overall construction really "seems" to be just as good on this one. Really nice fingerboard wood also.

I'm still not totally "comfortable" with this guitar yet and to be honest, I'm not totally sure why. I think it's the girth of the neck and if I could get over that I'm sure I wud fall in love with this guitar...If you're looking for a really nice acoustic for under $500 take a look at this guitar...If not for anything else, the solid spruce top and ovangkol back and sides are fantastic.
