Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

The time came to search for a metal axe. It was either a BC rich or a Jackson. Once I set eyes on this baby, for me the choice was obvious. Purchased it from a local music store for $1400 AUS.

The guitars overall appearance says it all. Killer metal guitar. Metallic black, shark tooth inlays, great randy rhoads shape, awesome fast neck, as well as a great sound when done up. All the components needed for a nice metal guitar.

Pickups are crap in my opinion as well as the jacko licenced floyd rose. However get these items replaced and the sound will be absolutely killer. I've replaced mine with a set of EMG's (85 and 81). I like everything else about this guitar.

Although reasonably light, the guitar feels very sturdy and nicely constructed. Just like anything else, if treated well, it should last you a very long time.

Replacing the pickups is a must on this baby if your looking for quality metal sound. Once this is done you'll have yourself a great looking and sounding metal musical instrument.
