Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

This is the MT Wah by ModTone. ModTone makes affordable pedals with boutique features modeled after some legendary pedals. They took a basic wah very similar to the Jim Dunlop Crybaby and built a pedal around with the regular mods that everyone does already built into the pedal.

I had been playing a regular Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal when I saw this. I had been wanting to modify my Crybaby, but I thought about it and realized I could just pay a few dollars more for this wah. The ModTone MT Wah is $60 new.

The pedal is true bypass. When it is off there is no unwanted signal loss from the pedal. There isn't that dreadful volume loss like you get from a stock Crybaby. The pedal comes with an allen wrench provided to adjust the sweep of the pedal. This means you can get more trebly highs or funky mids out of the pedal. There is a red LED light that indicates when the pedal is on or off.

None that I can think of.

Feels and looks just like any other way. The company offers a 5 year warranty if anything goes wrong.

A new replacement on the market for the Crybaby. At $60 it is the best wah for the price on the market.
