Hands-on review: ZVEX Effects Fuzz Probe

This is the Hog 15' TS instrument cable put out by Rapco and Horizon. There are tons of cables on the market so I thought I'd give it up for this mid priced cable with all the features of a cable twice the price.

I was comparing cables at my local music shop and this one felt and looked the strongest. $16 for 15 feet was also a bargain in my mind.

The coating. Also the ends are gold tips. They say gold is better. I guess it does conduct better, I have not noticed and pros or cons on the sounds, but I guess it is a nice feature to have. The wire itself is 20 gauge which is a bit more heavy duty then some of the other cable makers. Last but not least, Rapco makes many of their cables in the USA.

None at all I'm very satisfied with this cable.

Rugged. I went into more detais above: 20 guage wire, gold ends etc. There is also a jacket on the end that protects the ends. Looks easy to remove if you ever need to repair the cable, but the cable also comes with a warranty if registered.

Great cable! Many of the same features as a higher end cable for less money.
